Drives Patents (Class 26/35)
  • Publication number: 20070180670
Abstract: An apparatus on a carding machine has a covering comprising work and cover elements lying opposite the clothing of a high-speed cylinder. There is, in succession, an air exhaust opening for the exit of air and an opening for entry of air, past which openings a flow of fibres and air is passed. To allow improved detachment and elimination of short fibres in a simple manner, the spacing of the covering upstream of the exhaust opening is smaller than the spacing of the covering between air exhaust opening and air inlet opening and an airflow flows against the direction of rotation of the cylinder along the surface of the cylinder and flows with short fibres through the air exhaust opening.

  • Patent number: 5920971
Abstract: A planetary napping machine includes a napping roller drum assembly and cylinder head construction which facilitates assembly and servicing of the apparatus. The napping machine includes a frame and a napping roll drum assembly having a main shaft which is rotatably supported on the frame. One end of the main shaft engages with a drive assembly to drive rotation of the napping roll drum relative to the frame. The napping roll drum assembly includes spaced cylinder heads mounted on the main shaft, and napping rollers each having first and second ends which are respectively rotatably journaled in bearing assemblies which are circumferentially spaced around said first and second cylinder heads. The first ends of the napping rollers have extended end portions which extend through the bearing assemblies on the cylinder heads. The drum assembly still further includes drive motors respectively mounted on the cylinder heads.

  • Patent number: 4803761
Abstract: This invention concerns a process for monitoring and/or regulating cloth tension of a length of cloth processed on a cylinder napping machine, whereby the napping machine has pile rollers and/or counterpile rollers on the jacket of the cylinder which subject the cloth to pile-raising energy and/or counterpile-raising energy, and a certain set point tension value which assures optimum distribution of cloth tension on the cylinder is set at the cloth inlet and the cloth delivery end of the napping machine, during operation the cloth tension is measured preferably continuously and controlled at the inlet end and the outlet end and the tension values are compared, and in the event of a deviation from the predetermined tension values the respective deviating tension is automatically adjusted again to the predetermined set point value.
