With Gas Outlet Patents (Class 261/51)
  • Patent number: 4094933
Abstract: A carburettor for an internal combustion engine, which includes a duct connectable to a combustible charge inlet of the engine; a butterfly valve pivotally mounted within the duct and connectable to a throttle linkage of the engine to permit control of airflow through the duct; and a housing provided exteriorly of the duct, the housing having an inlet adapted for connection to a fuel source, an outlet passage leading into the duct, and at least one valve means intermediate the inlet connection and the outlet passage for regulating fuel flow into the duct.

  • Patent number: 4055609
Abstract: A carburetor and fuel feed device for small internal combustion engines incorporating a pumping section which receives fuel from a supply and delivers the required amounts for the range of operation between high and low speed operation with any excess being returned to the source of supply. A control device is employed which permits deceleration from high to low speed operation without flooding by instantaneously preventing the supply of fuel for high speed operation in response to movement of the throttle valve to an idle or low speed position.

  • Patent number: 4052488
Abstract: A carburettor for an internal combustion engine, which includes a duct connectable to a combustible charge inlet of the engine and having opposed internal wall portions which are parallel, a regulatable fuel inlet for feeding fuel into the duct, and a vacuum inducing vane within the duct and upstream of the fuel inlet, the vacuum inducing vane being biased towards a closed position to impede airflow through the duct and being displaceable against the bias by airflow through the duct, thereby, during operation, to create a negative pressure downstream of the vacuum inducing vane.

  • Patent number: 4044081
Abstract: An atomized fuel-air mixture is obtained in a heartshaped chamber of a rotating member which is mounted in the combustion air inlet duct of an internal combustion engine. Fuel and a gaseous medium are injected into the chamber and are thoroughly mixed by a fuel flow dividing portion formed by the curved walls of the chamber in axial alignment with the fuel injection nozzle, which deflects the fuel flow from the axis of rotation towards the periphery of the chamber. Outlet channels exhaust the fuel-gaseous medium mixture from the chamber and impart a rotational force to the member.

  • Patent number: 3987132
Abstract: Flow regulating apparatus comprises a turbulent-flow valve with a fluid supply connected at the upstream side thereof. A fixed pressure bias is applied to the fluid upstream of the valve whereby the mass flow rate of fluid through the valve is directly proportional to the pressure differential across the apparatus when these variations are within a selected pressure range. Such flow regulation may be used in a system for introducing a metered amount of liquid fuel into an air stream to provide a combustible air-fuel mixture having a substantially constant air-to-fuel ratio. With this system air is passed through a constricted zone to increase its velocity to sonic, and the area of the constricted zone is varied in correlation with operating demands imposed upon the engine for which the mixture is produced.

  • Patent number: 3978175
Abstract: An electromagnetic vacuum regulator responds to an electrical signal to supply a regulated vacuum output to vacuum sensitive air-fuel ratio control means in an engine carburetor, the air-fuel ratio control means providing a leaner air-fuel ratio with increasing manifold vacuum. The vacuum regulator includes a regulated vacuum output connected to the air-fuel ratio control means, a constant pressure input connected to a source of constant low vacuum and a variable pressure input normally supplied with the engine manifold vacuum so that the regulated output vacuum is normally always greater than the constant vacuum supplied to the constant pressure input. The carburetor throttle mechanism, however, includes means to actuate a valve opening the variable pressure inlet to the atmosphere during wide open throttle so that the regulated vacuum outlet supplies atmospheric pressure for a richer than normal air-fuel ratio regardless of the electric signal.

  • Patent number: 3940459
Abstract: A multi-barrel carburetor for an internal combustion engine has a primary throttle shaft and a metering rod lifter cam thereon. The metering rod lifter cam is generally C-shaped and has an inwardly projecting tongue which fits within a tapered groove in the throttle shaft for securing the cam thereon. The C-shaped cam is first inserted over a flat on the shaft and the groove in the shaft is aligned axially with the tongue of the cam. Then the shaft is slipped axially while the cam is held in position thereby to engage the tongue with the groove for securing the cam onto the throttle shaft.
