When the components are mixed thoroughly together, the resulting resin may have a viscosity higher than that of the individual components. The loading of the filler is preferably chosen so that the resulting blended resin is capable of being applied on to a vertical surface without experiencing significant slump. The viscosity of the mixed material can be up to 5 to 10 times or more than that of the individual components before mixing. The composition can be used in adhesives, modelling pastes, coatings, sealants, putties, mastics, stopping compounds, caulking materials, encapsulants and surface coatings.

Abstract: An adhesive article exhibiting air release or egress, repositionability, and/or slidability characteristics. An adhesive article comprises an adhesive layer comprising an adhesive surface comprising discrete forms of non-adhesive material randomly distributed on the patterned surface and at least partially embedded in the adhesive layer. The discrete forms of non-adhesive material provide areas of no or minimal adhesion and provide the article with some level of repositionability or slidability. The adhesive surface comprising the non-adhesive forms may be patterned to provide an adhesive surface with a contact surface and recessed area or channels that provide the article with a route for air to flow out from under the construction. An article may be formed by providing a release liner, applying discrete forms of non-adhesive material to a surface of the release liner, at least partially embedding the non-adhesive forms, and embossing the release liner.

Abstract: The object of the present invention is to minimize the risks of dose dumping associated with the concomitant consumption of alcohol and certain modified-release pharmaceutical or dietetic forms. The invention relates to an oral form comprising microparticles of the reservoir type for the modified release of at least one active principle (AP), characterized in that it is resistant to immediate dumping of the dose of AP in the presence of alcohol. In particular, the oral form according to the invention is characterized in that the time taken to release 50% of the AP in an alcoholic solution is not reduced more than 3-fold relative to the time taken to release 50% of the AP in an alcohol-free aqueous medium. The form comprises an agent 13, which is a pharmaceutically acceptable compound whose hydration or solvation rate or capacity is greater in an alcohol-free aqueous medium than in alcoholic solution.

Abstract: The invention provides a method of manufacturing a golf ball composed at least in part of a spherical elastomeric body. The method includes the steps of extruding a bar of an unvulcanized rubber compound for obtaining the elastomeric body, cutting the extruded bar into slugs of a given length, and coating the slug with a saturated or unsaturated carboxylic acid metal salt in powder form having a melting point at or below a vulcanizing temperature. This method prevents the slugs from clumping together and improves mold releasability.

Abstract: A beaded preform includes a plurality of adjacently positioned beads for forming a plurality of voids in an engineered material. The beaded preforms may be comprised of a filaments (single strand of beads) and mats (two-dimensional and three dimensional arrays of beads). The filaments and mats may be coated to become tows and laminates, respectively, which may then be assembled into composite materials. The preforms may be produced using novel manufacturing apparatuses and methods, and incorporated into known manufacturing processes to produce porous structures, including stress-steering structures, in any material including metals, plastics, ceramics, textiles, papers, and biological materials, for example.
