Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for controlling rodents. More specifically, the present invention relates to a device consisting of a combination of a solid and a pulpy bait (commonly known as ‘fresh bait’ or ‘pasta bait’ in rodent control practice), wherein the solid part is a shaped paraffinized rodenticide bait with a rodenticide concentration which is lower than or equal to the rodenticide concentration of the combination and contains the pulpy rodenticide bait with a rodenticide concentration which is higher than or equal to the rodenticide concentration of the combination. The rodent control device according to the invention has an enhanced acceptance by the rodents and can preferably be fixed by a hole formed in the solid part preventing the rodents to take it away. Furthermore, the present invention relates to the preparation and use of such rodent control device.

Abstract: A die for forming a stretch film includes at least: a primary passage for receiving a primary stream, the primary passage having a length extending from a die inlet opening to a die outlet opening; and a flow assembly for supplying a secondary stream to the primary passage at a secondary passage opening. A method for forming a stretch film includes: introducing a primary stream to a primary passage of a die at a die inlet opening, the primary passage having a length extending from the die inlet opening to a die outlet opening; supplying a secondary stream to the primary passage at a secondary passage opening; combining the primary stream and the secondary stream to create a combined stream; passing the combined stream through said die outlet opening; and passing the combined stream from the die outlet opening to a casting unit, thereby forming a film web.

Abstract: A sheet (2) is made by the method of the invention, in particular for use for the punching of lids for containers, in that a PE layer (5a) and a polyester (PET) welding layer (5b) of an amorphous polyester are applied to a base sheet layer (4) of polyester (PET) by coextrusion to form the finished sheet laminate (2). This ensures that the sheet (2) is transparent throughout, just as it provides the possibility of controlled delamination by separation of the PE layer (5a) from the PET welding layer (5b) in the welding area only, when the sheet (2) is pulled off a container (1). In addition, the sheet does not curl when punched into lids prior to being applied to the containers (1).

  • Patent number: 8871125
Abstract: A process to produce a laminate comprising coextruding a dynamically vulcanized alloy (DVA) film with an adhesive layer comprising a vulcanizable elastomeric composition through a die to produce the laminate. The process provides a residence time of the vulcanizable elastomeric composition in the melt to partially scorch the vulcanizable elastomeric composition. A melt of the DVA is in contact with the melt of the vulcanizable elastomeric composition in the die for at least 5 seconds, optionally also with a change in the area of the contact between the DVA film and the adhesive layer as it passes through the die, to increase the adhesion between the adhesive layer and the DVA layer relative to a shorter co-residence time. A laminate and a pneumatic tire comprising the laminate are also disclosed.

Abstract: A layer sequence repeater module for a co-extrusion die includes a cell formed of a plurality of thin annular disks stacked on top of each other in an axial direction of the co-extrusion die. Each disk includes a plurality of openings aligned with openings in the adjacent disks, thus forming multiple inner and outer melt passages. At least one of the layer sequence repeater module includes at least one first cap disk, at least one second cap disk, at least one distribution disk, at least one repeater disk and at least one spreader disk. The layer sequence repeater module may be a separately assembled and individually removable module of the co-extrusion die. Alternatively or additionally, the layer sequence repeater module may be incorporated into a module of the co-extrusion die.

Abstract: The present invention provides a multilayer film having an active oxygen barrier multilayer core comprising at least one of 1) an active oxygen barrier layer is sandwiched between two passive oxygen barrier layers, or 2) a passive oxygen barrier layer is sandwiched between two active oxygen barrier layers. In one embodiment, the active barrier layer comprises a composition that is a blend of a thermoplastic resin (A) having carbon-carbon double bonds substantially in its main chain, a transition metal salt (B), and an oxygen barrier polymer (C). In some embodiments the active barrier layer may also include a compatibilizer (D). The passive oxygen barrier layers help to maintain the oxygen barrier properties of the multilayer film after the oxygen absorbing capacity of the active barrier layer has been exhausted. As a result, the useful shelf life of the film can be extended.
