A contact member is connected to the first cam driving system. A stopper is located above or below the contact member and regulates relative vertical movement of the die with respect to the lower punch, in cooperation with the contact member. A fourth cam driving system has a fourth cam for vertically moving the stopper. The first cam, the second cam, the third cam, and the fourth cam are rotated in synchronism.

    Abstract: A high quality finished prototype fuselage structure of an aircraft is manufactured using a cured female tool and an automated composite layup machine, and then touched up by hand to meet a tolerance or other specification. The female tool is preferably made from a male mold, by depositing layers of composite material over the mold, curing the tool together at a first cure temperature, separating the tool from the mold, and then curing the tool at a second, higher temperature. The first cure temperature should be at or below an upper limit temperature no greater than 180° F. The second cure temperature is preferably in the range of 250° F. to 350° F. The step of hand touching up can comprise one or more of mechanically abrading and deforming a first portion of the fuselage structure to mate with a second portion of the fuselage structure.

A first composition is applied into the mold cavity to form a first layer adjacent the second effect region. The mask is removed from the first effect region. A second composition is applied into the mold cavity to form a second layer adjacent the first effect region. Benefits of pressure applied to a mask are also realized when making the article from a preformed part using the mask outside of a mold.

    Abstract: Upon starting continuous extrusion, the temperature of a hard resin and a soft resin is increased in extrusion sections. A screw of the extrusion section of the hard resin is set at high rpm at first. The hard resin reaches a maximum temperature ?(° C.) by heating of friction with the screw, and comes to have high flowability. Upon starting conveyance of an assembly, a large amount of molten hard resin and a small amount of molten soft resin are extruded onto the periphery of a tubular structure. Upon passage of a point A of the tubular structure under annular discharge throats, the extrusion amount of the hard resin starts gradually decreasing, and the extrusion amount of the soft resin starts gradually increasing. Since the temperature of the hard resin starts dropping a short time after the decrease in the extrusion amount, the hard resin maintains the high flowability.
