Patent number: 7258331Abstract: A hydraulic bearing includes a support spring made of elastomeric material and a hydraulic volume partitioned into a work chamber and a compensating chamber. A partition wall is disposed between the two chambers and includes a transfer channel. For acoustic decoupling, a membrane-like decoupling element is seated and is displacement limited between two lattice plates. The decoupling element is made of flexible elastic material and is clamped laterally to be pressure tight. The decoupling membrane is radially prestressed for matching the acoustic decoupling to specific disturbing frequencies (hum frequencies). This prestressing takes place preferably because of the shrink process during vulcanization of the decoupling membrane which is made of raw rubber. The decoupling membrane can have a peripheral bead and at least one transverse strut. The strut can have a reinforcement insert.Type: GrantFiled: December 17, 2004Date of Patent: August 21, 2007Assignee: ContiTech Vibration Control GmbHInventor: Diethard Schneider

Patent number: 6808168Abstract: Disclosed is a fluid-filled active vibration damping device including: an elastic body; a primary fluid chamber partially defined by the elastic body; a movable member partially defining the primary fluid chamber on one side and a working air chamber on the other side; and a vacuum pump including an air intake port and an exhaust port, which are connectable to the working chamber via a valve mechanism. A fluid pressure variation in the primary fluid chamber can be actively controlled by transmitting an air pressure variation in the working air chamber to the primary fluid chamber via the movable member. A switching operation of the valve mechanism selectively applies a negative pressure generated in the air intake port and a positive pressure generated in the exhaust port to the working air chamber in order to generate the air pressure variation in the working air chamber.Type: GrantFiled: September 4, 2002Date of Patent: October 26, 2004Assignee: Tokai Rubber Industries, Ltd.Inventors: Atsushi Muramatsu, Hiroyuki Ichikawa

Patent number: 6672768Abstract: An intermediate bearing for a driveline of a commercial vehicle has a housing (7) with a stirrup-shaped cross-section. The housing (7) has a fixing face (12) formed of two straight portions (8, 9) and a first arched portion (10). A bearing member (15) is arranged between the portions (8, 9, 10). The bearing member (15) is rubber and is connected to the fixing face (12) by vulcanization. A locking element (23) bridges the space between the two straight portions (8, 9). The locking member (23) is attached to the bearing member (15). The bearing member (15) encloses a supporting ring (16) which serves to receive a rolling contact bearing. The locking element (23) is adjustable for the purpose of setting a pre-tension of the bearing member (15) towards the longitudinal axis (18) of the bore (17) of the supporting ring (16). The locking element (23) can be connected to the housing (7) after the required pre-tension has been set.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 2000Date of Patent: January 6, 2004Assignee: Spicer Gelenkwellenbau GmbH & Co. Patent number: 6631893Abstract: A pneumatically regulated classic bearing dampens hydraulically and decouples vibrations of a small amplitude using a freely displaceable element. The bearing can be engaged using a pneumatically activated control chamber, which has a miniature configuration and is located beneath the freely displaceable element, in such a way that the element forms a deformable or displaceable element for the control chamber. In place of a compensation regulation, in the control chamber, a shift to one of three possible, pneumatically determined control states preferably takes place. The states are VENTILATED, CLOSED and PRESSURIZED.Type: GrantFiled: November 13, 2001Date of Patent: October 14, 2003Assignee: Woco Franz-Josef Wolf & Co.Inventors: Waldemar Hermann, Volker Grünig

Patent number: 6439359Abstract: A vibration restraining apparatus for vehicle of the present invention is comprised of a housing formed by a rigid material and having an inner space, and fixed to a vibration transmitting member; a filled member sealed in the inner space of said housing in a non-adhered state with leaving a gap with respect to a vibrating direction of said housing, and formed by an elastic body at least at a surface thereof. When the housing resonates by vibration transmitted from the vibration transmitting member, the filled member contacts inner surface parts located at both sides of the housing in a vibrating direction thereof to exercise a damping character due to an energy loss caused by a sliding friction and a collision. Thus, a large damping character occurs inside of the housing to reduce vibration of the housing effectively. As a result, vibration of the vibration transmitting member is effectively reduced.Type: GrantFiled: May 2, 2000Date of Patent: August 27, 2002Assignee: Tokai Rubber Industries, Ltd.Inventors: Rentaro Kato, Yoshinori Yasumoto, Masaaki Hamada, Syuji Ikaga, Hajime Maeno, Shigemitsu Hattori
