Universal Joint Patents (Class 267/266)
  • Patent number: 10632809
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a leaf spring retaining element for rotationally and elastically mounting a leaf spring end of a leaf spring on a vehicle structure. The leaf spring retaining element includes a leaf spring mounting part having a receiving recess to accommodate the leaf spring end; an elastomer molded part configured to rotationally and elastically mount the leaf spring end, wherein the elastomer molded part is arranged in the receiving recess and shaped to at least partially enclose the leaf spring end; and a bearing configured to support the leaf spring mounting part on the vehicle structure.

  • Patent number: 10065470
Abstract: A suspension for a front double-axle vehicle is provided in which when an axial load is input from either a first front axle or a second front axle, the axial load is transmitted and dispersed to the other axle. The suspension includes an intermediate bracket that is disposed between a front leaf spring coupled to the first front axle and a rear leaf spring coupled to the second front axle. A front shackle is rotatably coupled at a first end thereof to a rear end of the front leaf spring. Additionally, a connector is rotatably coupled at a first end thereof to a second end of the front shackle and at a second end thereof to a front eye end of the rear leaf spring, and is rotatably coupled to the intermediate bracket at an intermediate portion thereof between the first and second ends.

  • Patent number: 9566840
Abstract: An independent suspension for a vehicle includes a spring-link suspension structure which is made from a fibrous composite material, is substantially U-shaped when viewed in the vehicle longitudinal direction. Ends of upper and lower members are secured to the vehicle body or a carrier connected thereto. At least one of these securements has no rotational degree of freedom about an axis extending in the vehicle longitudinal direction, while a wheel hub is connected to the base of the U-shaped spring-link suspension structure in order to secure a vehicle wheel. At least one of the members is secured to the vehicle body or to the carrier in a substantially rigid manner i.e. aside from low levels of elasticity, and no further wheel guiding suspension link is provided that substantially extends in the vehicle longitudinal direction. As a result, in order to achieve a desired toe-in increase when braking, a recess is provided in at least one of the members.

  • Patent number: 8640806
Abstract: A transport means (1) comprising: —at least two wheels (2), —a chassis (3) with a longitudinal axis, which is substantially parallel to a direction of travel of the transport means (1), and —at least one suspension system (4) operationally positioned between the chassis (3) and the wheels (2), wherein each wheel (2) has a wheel rotation axis (5), which is substantially horizontal, wherein the suspension system (4) includes a connection means (22) that interact releasably with a connection means (23) on the chassis (3), and wherein the suspension system (4) has a first orientation, wherein the suspension system (4) has at least one other orientation which is rotated in relation to the first orientation about a suspension rotation axis (6), which is substantially horizontal and perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the chassis (3).

  • Patent number: 5020824
Abstract: A suspension for a vehicle having tandem axles includes a composite leaf spring connected between the axles. The leaf spring is constrained to bend about a transverse axis by a fixed elastic support having a concave, arcuate bottom surface whose center coincides with the transverse axis. The elastic support engages the top surface of the leaf spring at two points on opposite sides of the transverse axis, and is opposed by a central elastic element. The ends of the leaf spring are connected to the tandem axles by ball joints having elastic pads.
