Sliding Patents (Class 267/68)
  • Patent number: 11827069
Abstract: Some embodiments may provide a suspension unit that may include a rail having a longitudinal axis, a sliding member slidably connected to the rail, and shock absorption and springing means adapted to damp motions and support forces along the longitudinal axis of the rail, wherein, the rail and the sliding member are shaped to have transverse cross-sectional profiles that prevent a rotational movement of the sliding member with respect to the rail about the longitudinal axis of the rail. In some embodiments, the suspension unit may be part of an in-wheel system further including at least a steering unit.

  • Patent number: 11279189
Abstract: A walking beam suspension for use with an agricultural vehicle or robot having a chassis and a plurality of wheels on opposite sides of the chassis. The walking beam suspension generally includes first and second walking beams pivotably connected to the opposite sides of the chassis and a dynamic coupling connected between the walking beams and the chassis. As the vehicle traverses the surface the wheels encounter deviations. The walking beams pivot relative to each other and to the chassis to maintain the wheels in contact with the surface. The dynamic coupling dynamically extends and retracts connections between the walking beams and dynamically pivots and linearly moves a connection to the chassis to reduce the transfer of movement caused by the deviations to the chassis.

  • Patent number: 9630650
Abstract: A device for adjusting camber and/or toe of a vehicle wheel includes a rotatable actuating element arranged between a wheel-side carrier part of a wheel carrier and an axle-side guide part thereof and adjustable by a rotary drive unit. A double-acting freewheel is disposed in a driving path between the rotary drive unit and the actuating element and configured to assume a release position in which the driving path is enabled for transmission of a driving torque from the rotary drive unit onto the actuating element, and to assume a locking position in which a locking torque is generated in opposition to a reaction torque directed from the actuating element to the rotary drive unit. The freewheel is constructed to open in the presence of the driving torque generated by the rotary drive unit and closes in the presence of the reaction torque generated by the actuating element.

  • Patent number: 9278594
Abstract: Disclosed is an independent wheel suspension (1) for a steerable wheel (37) having a motor (3). The motor is connected via a linear guide (5), which is movable in an approximately vertical direction (A), to a revolute joint (7) which produces a steering connection, pivotable about an at least approximately vertically running axis of rotation (B), to a vehicle frame (39). The linear guide (5) is coupled to a fluidic spring and/or damping element (9) which forms a load-bearing constituent part of the revolute joint (7).

  • Patent number: 8746383
Abstract: An in-the-wheel hub-less suspension system for use on a vehicle is disclosed. The suspension mechanism has at least two vertical guides; at least two mounting brackets to be affixed to diametrically opposing positions on the rim of the wheel to which the suspension system is to be attached; at least one shock absorber unit; and one spring for each vertical guide. Each of the vertical guides extends through one of the at least one shock absorber units, wherein the spring for each vertical guide is located underneath the at least one shock absorber unit and encloses the vertical guide; and wherein each end of each of the at least two vertical guides engages with the corresponding mounting bracket.

  • Patent number: 7938210
Abstract: An in-the-wheel suspension system including a drive mechanism for coupling the rotational motion of a wheel rim to the drive shaft of an electric motor and for supporting the wheel rim with respect to the vehicle chassis using one or more springs and dampers. In a hubless version, a spring member supports extend between a frame member attached to the chassis and a bearing member that engages with the rim. In a version used with a wheel hub, the hub is supported by an axle and the spring member supports the axle in movable relation to the frame member. A pivoting support arm that is attached to the axel and pivots about a pivot point attached to the frame member at a location spaced from the wheel axis may be used to support the hub. A Peaucellier linkage may be used to support the axle for movement along a straight line vertical path, the linkage being attached to the frame member at two fixed pivot points.

  • Patent number: 7565955
Abstract: A motorcycle brake and suspension system comprising: an outer tube, having an upper end and a lower end, a mainspring mounted inside the outer tube, a brake line traveling through the central axis of the outer tube and looped to allow slack, and a braking system actuated by the brake line. The brake line actuates an integrated padlock caliper disk brake, and is protected by a flexible plastic cover. A fender bracket is mounted on the brake caliper. The integrated padlock caliper disk brake system has integrally formed brake fluid passages in the fork leg, which are hydraulically operative inside the load bearing portion of the fork leg. An adjustable push rod supports the mainspring by adjusting its neutral position length.
