  • Patent number: 10711938
Abstract: A clamp for repair of a pipe coupling, includes a clamp unit including a side wall with an inner surface, the inner surface having a curvature dimensioned to match an outer curvature of a pipe coupling to be repaired. A coupling on the clamp unit is constructed and arranged to couple a first portion of the clamp unit with a second portion of the clamp unit. The coupling, when secured, operates to induce a radially inward force on the inner surface of the clamp unit. A window is formed as an opening in the side wall of the clamp unit. The window is dimensioned to expose a flange of a pipe coupling to be repaired.

  • Patent number: 9791085
Abstract: An apparatus and method for joining pipes includes a plate for melting mating surfaces of the pipes to be joined. Additionally, the apparatus utilizes a vacuum in order to push the first and second pipes together in lieu of hand or mechanical pressure which may be inconsistent. Additionally, the vacuum allows the pipes to be joined to settle on each other in order to create a pressure about a periphery of the end of the pipe being joined to the other pipe. The consistent pressure creates a very strong joint between the first and second pipes.

  • Patent number: 9669454
Abstract: A holding device for a flanging tool includes two clamping parts movable towards one another to respective clamping positions. A stop is configured to abut, in an abutment position, an end of a pipe to be flanged. An actuating mechanism is configured to move the clamping parts into the respective clamping positions so as to clamp the pipe to be flanged. The actuating mechanism is coupled to the stop such that actuation of the actuating mechanism moves the stop out of the abutment position.

  • Patent number: 5513837
Abstract: The portable clamp is used, for example, in making repairs to a product, such as a snowboard. The repair volume location of the snowboard is reworked to prepare this repair volume, i.e. a damaged portion of the product, to receive repairing materials. After their placement, a pressure distribution plate of this portable clamp is positioned over, and generally beyond, the repair volume location. Then a bottom clamp bar and a top clamp bar are positioned, respectively, under and over the snowboard. These clamp bars are thereafter drawn together by using the preliminary clamping fastener assemblies located at their respective ends. Then final clamping fastener assemblies, threadably positioned in the top clamp bar, in the central portion thereof, are tightened to continue the distribution of clamping forces to the pressure distribution plate.

  • Patent number: 5108242
Abstract: A vertical support post mounts a drill head thereon, wherein the drill head is reciprocatable relative to the post to effect drilling of holes within paper stacks mounted upon a reciprocating table orthogonally oriented relative to the post positioned below the drill head. A reciprocating table is mounted upon a plurality of rollers, wherein the table may be positioned relative to the rollers utilizing a plurality of adjustable stop members operative in association with a stop guide mounted to a rear edge flange of the table. A clamp member is pivotally mounted over the table to secure a paper stack thereon for a drilling procedure.

  • Patent number: 4978100
Abstract: A fire hose clamp that comprises a U-shaped guide structure for slidably supporting a movable jaw; a manual rotary screw extends from the movable jaw through a nut in the central wall of the U-shaped structure, whereby rotation of the screw moves the jaw along the guide structure. A stationary jaw is arranged in the path of the movable jaw, such that the two jaws exert a squeezing action on a fire hose extending through the jaw space; the hose fabric is flattened to shut off the flow of water through the hose. Preferably the jaws have curved surfaces that tend to iron away any creases or bulges in the hose fabric during the hose-squeezing operation, thereby assuring a more consistent water shut-off action.

  • Patent number: 4781787
Abstract: Welding equipment for plastic plates and the like includes a support. First and second longitudinally extending spaced parallel clamping tables are movably mounted to the support so that the tables may be moved towards and away from each other. First and second clamping beams are provided. Each beam overlies one of the tables and is movable therewith and each beam has a first and portion pivotally associated with one of the tables. A lock system extends from each of the beams and cooperates with another lock system associated with the support. The lock systems permit the beams to be independently pivoted relative to the support. A heated blade is movably positionable between the tables.

  • Patent number: 4542892
Abstract: A machine for use in the fusion fitting of a branch, T- or saddle junction to a pipe, comprises a first clamp for holding pipe and a second clamp for holding the fitting in the correct orientation to the pipe. A manually-operated sliding plunger arrangement allows the second clamp to be moved towards or away from the first clamp by way of a manually operated device. The second clamp can be locked against retraction from any one of a plurality of positions relative to the first clamp, and is adapted to be loaded towards the first clamp in its locked positions during the fusion process when a fitting engages a pipe or a heating tool is held between a pipe and fitting. The shaft which controls the movement of the second clamp has a pivoting extension or plunger terminated by a handle, which can be folded upward. Pins mounted at selected intervals on the plunger cooperate with a loading plate during the downward movement of the plunger to urge the second clamp either toward or away from the first clamp.

  • Patent number: 4063986
Abstract: A portable holding clamp for applying patches for the repair of tire sidewalls comprises a rigid beam member adjustable telescopically to accommodate tires having various chord widths, integrally attached rim coupling means, manually actuated patch pressurizing means located midway of the beam and a quick attaching and holding means for attaching the clamp to a track or tread belt of the tire. The quick attaching and holding means includes a key-shaped slot formed on the beam, opposite the rim coupling means, for facilitating rapid adjustment of a holding chain on which either a key-shaped latching member or a barbed latching member is used for quick attachment to the tire, depending on whether the tire has a track belt or tread belt mounted therearound. Thus, the clamp can be quickly and conveniently positioned to effect tire sidewall patch repairs. A method of repairing such tire sidewalls is also disclosed herein.
