  • Patent number: 11205882
Abstract: A crimping module suited to a crimping hand tool is provided. The crimping module includes a base adapted to be moved along an axis, an adjustment member rotatably disposed at the base along the axis, and a crimping member movably assembled to the base along the axis. The crimping member penetrates and is screwed with the adjustment member. The adjustment member is adapted to be rotated about the axis to drive the crimping member to move along the axis, so as to adjust a position of the crimping member in the crimping hand tool. After a cable and a connector are received in the crimping hand tool, the crimping hand tool is adapted to drive the base by a force and crimp the cable and the connector together via the crimping member.

  • Patent number: 9067306
Abstract: A cam activated clamp enables a user with joint pain in hands and wrists to firmly hold an object in place for twisting. The cam activated clamp includes a base frame attached to a counter gripper which is immediately adjacent to a main gripper. The main gripper can travel along a central axis toward the counter gripper unless a locking plate holds the main gripper in a fixed position on the base frame. The user can rotationally activate a cam in order to unlock the main gripper. This allows the user with the joint pain in the hands and wrists to insert the object between the main gripper and the counter gripper and then slide the main gripper proximate the counter gripper and lock the main gripper in place by rotating a cam distant a locking plate which holds the object in place for twisting.

  • Patent number: 8534655
Abstract: A quick-release vise utilizing one or more clamp shafts that can be easily re-configured to clamp with CW or CCW rotation of a clamp handle. The clamp shaft is received in a housing secured to the underside of a workbench, and is free to slide in and out. The clamp shaft passes through aligned holes in a pair of opposing jaws, at least one of which is moveable. A pinion freely slides on the clamp shaft within the housing and converts rotational movement from the clamp shaft into linear movement via a meshing rack gear. The linear motion actuates a bridge which slides against a laterally fixed wedge causing the bridge to displace a locking element which clutches and moves the clamp shaft to affect clamping between the jaws. The wedge and bridge pair can be inverted to allow clamping to occur with a either CW or CCW rotation of the clamp handle and/or re-oriented to cause a spreading motion between the jaws rather than a clamping motion.

  • Patent number: 7473164
Abstract: A self-centering skate holder for clamping a skate blade from above and below which maintains the blade at a predetermined height and parallelism. A handle is connected with a cable which is taut and extends around the circumference of the upstanding vertical member. The movements of the cable activate cam levers which rotate cams that move a pair of jaws towards or away from each other. The simultaneous movements of the cams ensure that the jaws move in unison and through a similar distance allowing a skate blade of any thickness to be clamped along the desired centerline. In an alternative mechanism, a tie bar extends between the jaws and is operated by a cam to induce equal and opposite movement of the jaws.

  • Patent number: 6761349
Abstract: An improved clamping assembly especially suited for use in a bench vise for allowing a user to choose between conventional fine-screw-reduction closure and/or opening of the jaws for clamping, or quick-set sliding adjustment of the jaws. The clamping assembly relies on a toothed rack and pawl. The pawl is selectively engaged with the toothed rack to allow conventional reduction gear closure or opening. Alternatively, a user can more quickly open and close the jaws by disengaging the pawl from the rack and simply sliding the jaws relative to one another. The clamping assembly provides a quick-set clamping action which allows a user to initially to preset the jaws by sliding them together in one quick motion, followed by conventional fine-screw-adjustment for high-force clamping.

  • Patent number: 4934204
Abstract: A new compact linkage for translating rotary input force to amplified linear output force includes two force applying members which move apart relatively during operation of the linkage. A strut is pivotally attached at one end to each of the force applying members; the struts extend towards each other with a space between their free ends. Each strut has a bearing surface at its free end. A cam-roll member is interposed between the bearing surfaces of the struts and includes cam surfaces in contact with the bearing surfaces. When the cam-roll member is rotated by a lever attached thereto, it translates the rotary input force from the lever into linear output force by a rolling action of the cam-roll member against the bearing surfaces of the pivoted struts. The linkage is markedly more efficient in force translation and transmission than pivoting toggle linkages typical of the prior art.

  • Patent number: 3988865
Abstract: An improved clamp is disclosed in which a carrier plate is mounted slidably within a housing and is moved in one embodiment in a linear direction by means of an actuator. First and second arms are mounted in the housing and in angularly oriented guide slots within the carrier plate whereby, when the actuator moves the carrier plate, the arms move so that jaws at the ends of the arms converge at a clamping position. A pin in each arm is engaged in its own slot in the housing to insure that the jaws move along a predetermined path. In one embodiment of the invention only one of the arms is movable and the other arm is fixed. In a second, self-centering embodiment of the invention both arms move towards each other and equal and opposite bending stresses are induced in the arms which bend the arms within the elastic limit of the metal.
