For Pivoted Jaw Patents (Class 269/209)
  • Patent number: 9352472
Abstract: The instant disclosure relates to a direction-adjustable jig, which includes a base, a sliding member, and a hinge member. The base is topped with a platform having a pair of guide rails. The two guide rails extend in opposite directions and are parallel to each other. The sliding member is disposed on the platform and capable of reciprocating motion. The hinge member is disposed on the platform and pivotally connected to one end of the sliding member. The hinge member is rotatable above the base. The hinge member further has a pair of protruding guide teeth. The guide teeth are perpendicular to each other and insertable into the guide rails. Through the motion of the sliding member on the platform, the guide teeth of the hinge member can be inserted into respective guide rails, such that the hinge member can rotate above the base and change its direction.

  • Patent number: 8091875
Abstract: A gripping jig for assembling whereby a force is applied to a molded body in a direction perpendicular to an assembling direction. When an assembling load is applied to the molded body, the force is adjustable with an adjustment screw such that the molded body is guided to move in the assembling direction. Since the force is applied from a direction different from the assembling direction, the molded body can move in the assembling direction, and since the force is adjustable, application of the assembling load to the molded body and the movement of the molded body can be adjusted. Since a plurality of the molded bodies are fixed and assembled respectively, when there are variations in size of the molded bodies, an excessive assembling load is is avoided with each molded body guided to move, so that a more uniform assembling load is applied to the plurality of molded bodies.

  • Patent number: 6311789
Abstract: A bit breaker is formed of a U-shaped base and latchable gate which closes the U. When the gate is in a closed position, evenly spaced chocks on both the base and gate protrude into the central cavity of the bit breaker to engage slots formed in the bit. The bit breaker is designed to be used with either roller cone bits or drag bits.

  • Patent number: 4462153
Abstract: A termination tool for holding cross-connect connectors, as used in telecommunications systems, while inserting conductors into the back edge of the connector, is adapted to be releasably mounted on the support member on to which the connectors are eventually mounted. The tool, of open frame form, having spaced sides, back member and a rotatable front member, has formations at the back ends of the side members which engage with the support member. A connector is inserted in a slot extending along the front member with a back edge facing forward. The conductors can be inserted, a retainer snapped over the back edge of the connector, the rotatable member rotated approximately 90.degree. to bring the back edge of the connector and the retainer facing upwards, and then the connector and retainer removed from the tool and mounted on the support member.

  • Patent number: 4378937
Abstract: A pipe welder's aligning tool for use in joining two pipe members end to end comprises a clamp having a pair of jaws movable toward and away from one another so as separably to clamp one pipe member adjacent its end. The jaws carry supports of such length as to extend beyond the one end of the clamped pipe to provide support for the confronting end of a second pipe member that is to be joined to the clamped pipe. To enable the supports to function properly regardless of the diameters of the pipes that are to be joined, the supports are adjustable relatively to their associated jaws. One of the jaws may be mounted on an elongate member which is adjustable to enable the tool to be used on pipes of greatly differing diameters.

  • Patent number: 4326703
Abstract: A generally rectangular frame is provided for disposition on a horizontal surface and first and second adjacent sides of the frame define convergent gripping jaws and a horizontally opening crotch at the convergent ends of the jaws for frictionally gripping adjacent peripherally spaced surfaces of a log section. An elongated third jaw is provided and pivot structure releasably pivotally attaches one end of the third jaw to selected points spaced along the first jaw for swinging of the other end of the third jaw toward and away from the end portion of the second jaw remote from the first jaw. Biasing structure is operatively connected between the third jaw and the frame and yieldably biases the third jaw to swing in a direction toward the second jaw.

  • Patent number: 4235429
Abstract: A self-contained vise and support assembly including two jaw members urged together by screw or other appropriate devices to clamp a desired work piece therebetween. The jaw members comprise one member rigidly fixed to the vise base and one movable member pivotably mounted upon the vise body capable of freely changing position and orientation relative to the fixed jaw member in order to accommodate a multitude of different work pieces. The vise itself is supported by a support assembly permitting free movement and adjustment about a plurality of axes. The support assembly possesses the capability of being mounted or affixed to a large number of existing work tables or surfaces for greater versatility of use.

  • Patent number: 4120490
Abstract: The clamping device comprises a housing and an anchoring device for fixing the housing to the table of a machine tool. A jaw for clamping the work to be machined to the table and a lever extending the jaw are both pivotally mounted on a pivot pin carried by the housing. An actuating device engages one end of the lever for shifting the lever about the pivot pin and is accessible from outside the housing. A detachable coupling device renders the lever rigid with the jaw in any one of a number of relative angular positions so that, when the actuating device shifts the lever, the lever and the jaw move together for clamping the work. A spacer block can be combined with the clamping device. The block has on its top side a cavity for receiving the anchor device of the clamping device and a lock member for engaging an aperture in the housing.
