  • Patent number: 8480895
Abstract: Liquid filter assemblies including an upper sample reservoir, a sample filter and a lower storage bottle are supported by a vacuum base. The base has a vacuum inlet port and, for connection to the liquid filter assembly, a vacuum outlet port. A vacuum is provided through the base to below the sample filter to draw sample liquid through the sample filter into the storage bottle. The base may include an auxiliary vacuum outlet port for connection with additional devices. The bases may be connected from one to another through auxiliary vacuum outlets and the vacuum inlets to make a chain of liquid filter assemblies supplied from one vacuum source. Alternatively, one base may include multiple vacuum outlet ports so that it may support and supply vacuum to a plurality of liquid filter assemblies.

  • Patent number: 7418834
Abstract: A takeout jaw for handling glass bottles includes a holder for both fixed and floating inserts. This design allows an insert to be in a fixed position when the insert is provided with a nominal thickness. When a floating insert of a lesser thickness is installed, the spring clip does not engage the floating insert, which allows the floating insert to move vertically or float. The takeout holder contains either type of insert within the pocket with retaining clips that engage chamfers formed on the inserts.

  • Patent number: 6889966
Abstract: A clamp pad is provided for being selectively mounted to each jaw of a bar clamp assembly. The clamp pad can be easily mounted to the clamp jaw and radially locked in place with respect to the bar clamp assembly. In an embodiment of the invention, the clamp pad is configured to selectively be fit on either of the clamp jaws of the bar clamp assembly to facilitate assembly. The clamp pad defines a substantially increased clamping area to evenly distribute force and prevent damage to the associated workpiece. The increased dimensions of the clamp pad also stabilizes the bar clamp assembly, which eliminates tipping and thus eliminates the need for associated assemblies such as clamp saddles and the like.

  • Patent number: 5984290
Abstract: In a two station machining vise having a stationary, center jaw and movable opposing jaws, the interior of the vise body is totally enclosed to protect the working components from machining byproducts. The vise has a brake mechanism and an offset mechanism associated with one slide so that workpieces can be engaged and released sequentially. If the brake mechanism is not activated, the two movable jaws are moved simultaneously. With the brake mechanism engaged, one movable jaw is moved to position first and then the movable jaw having the brake and offset mechanisms connected therewith is subsequently moved into position. When the workpieces are to be released, the second movable jaw is first retracted the offset distance and then the first movable jaw must be completely retracted prior to any subsequent movement by the first movable jaw.

Abstract: A pliers having interchangeable and replaceable jaws. Each shank of the pliers have an outwardly projecting stud formed opposite the handle end thereof. A slot is formed in the jaw end of each shank. The slot opens externally of the shank in a direction away from one another. A latch is pivotably mounted in each slot. Each latch has a finger which projects away from the pliers. Each jaw has a recess formed therein, permitting the jaw to be slidably, removably received on a stud. Each jaw further has a notch formed therein having an open end in communication with the recess in the jaw. Resilient means is positioned in each slot for constantly biasing the latch having the finger thereon outwardly of the pliers. When the jaw is slid onto a stud, the finger is received in a respective notch securing the jaw to the stud. A manually-actuatable portion of the latch permits the latch to be depressed against the biasing action of the resilient means, pivoting the finger out of the notch and releasing the jaw.
