  • Patent number: 6899324
Abstract: A automatic truss jig setting system is disclosed that includes a table including a plurality of segments with a side edge of adjacent segments defining a slot. At least one pin assembly, and optionally a pair of pin assemblies, is movable independently of each other along the slot. Movement apparatus is provided for independently moving the pin assemblies along the slot. Each of the side edges of the segments associated with the slot defines a substantially vertical plane with a zone being defined between the substantially vertical planes of the side edges, and the movement apparatus is located substantially outside of the zone of the slot. The invention may optionally include a system for handling the obstruction of pin assembly movement, and a system for keeping track of the position of the pin assembly when the pin assembly has encountered an obstruction.

  • Patent number: 6880442
Abstract: A woodworking machinery jig and fixture system includes a track which is or may be attached to a fence, a convex-concave curved flip stop and a base which mounts the stop to the track. The stop has a projecting portion which penetrates the plane of the fence so the stop isn't lifted by the point of a mitered board. The stop also has a lower convex surface which faces the work support surface and curves up at both ends. The top leg of the stop is concave toward the fence to allow clearance for a zero-clearance board and make the stop adaptable to different track and fence configurations. The base has opposite sides of different widths bordered by steps on one side and a ramp on the other side so the base can be used in a large range of T-track slot widths. The arm mounting hole of the base is offset from the base mounting so as to provide an offset to accommodate a ¾? zero clearance board by turning the base a half turn relative to the slot.

  • Patent number: 6866889
Abstract: A holder (2; 22; 82) for coating drill with a ceramic coating by a vapor deposition process has a perforated outer wall (4; 24; 84) into which the drills are inserted with their tips projecting. The holder has a hollow interior in which support means locate the inserted drills parallel and with their tips projecting to the same extent. The support means may comprise a correspondingly perforated inner wall (8; 26; 86) and a back wall (10; 28; 88) against which the drills abut, the outer, inner and back walls being parallel to each other. In one configuration, the holder has a hexagonal plan form with alternate outer walls (4) perforated and each with associated inner and back walls (8, 10). The holder is provided with a lid (52) that shields the interior from ingress of the coating material but provides an air passage to assist cooling of the portions of the drills in the holder interior after the coating has been applied.

  • Patent number: RE38612
Abstract: A router table fence having three nesting aluminum extrusions or spars, two of which lie under a longer third spar. By positioning the inner ends of the two lower spars adjacent to a router cutter protruding through a router table, it is possible to provide a fence, particularly when the lower spars are used with wood facings or sub-fences, that can be adjusted to closely surround the cutter. Lateral movement of the fence assembly adjusts the amount of cutter that contacts a workpiece manipulated past the cutter while contacting the fence. The cross sectional shapes of the spars are identical and are generally square, with structure that permits the upper, longer spar to rest on top of, and be attached in a manner permitting it to slide against, the lower two spars. T-shaped slots in each face of the spars accept fasteners that connect the spars together and also accept fasteners for a variety of accessories, such as hold-down devices and shields.
