Expandable Mandrel Patents (Class 269/48.1)
  • Patent number: 6289566
Abstract: A workpiece holder for a press tool has a mounting ring which carries a circular retainer ring for frictionally engaging the inside of the workpiece and has a non-planar or curved end face engaged with a complimentary shaped end face of a body of the pressing tool to permit relative angular movement between the mounting ring and pressing tool body. This permits the axis of the mounting ring and hence, the axis of the workpiece carried by the mounting ring, to be angularly inclined relative to the axis of the pressing tool body to permit substantially coaxial insertion of the workpiece into a bore of a body even when the axis of the pressing tool body is angularly offset or skewed relative to the axis of the bore.

  • Patent number: 6182349
Abstract: A method for producing a seamless metallic belt without a welded line and capable of being easily produced in high accuracy. A seamless belt material 21 having a defined length as a whole is placed on a core 11 and is held in a stretching state on the core 11 thermally expanded by heating, and further, in the above state, an outer circumference of the belt material 21 is cut to a predetermined thickness. The seamless metallic belt 20 is obtained by removing after the core 11 is cooled.
