Abstract: A bladder-type jig which is suitably used for manufacturing a stiffened panel structure using a hat stringer, and improves durability of the jig to enable repeated use of the jig. A body which is a body of a bladder has a hollow pipe-shape inside thereof. One end portion of the body is sealed by a terminal metal member, and the interior of body is in an air-tight condition. An insertion portion of the terminal metal member is inserted into a hollow space of the end portion of the body. A plurality of band-shaped groove portions are provided on the outer peripheral surface of the insertion portion such that the groove portions are wound around the outer peripheral surface. The band-shaped groove portions form a plurality of annular adhesive layers between the inner surface of the body and the outer peripheral surface of the insertion portion. This makes it possible to enhance an adhesive state between the body and the terminal metal member and air tightness in the interior of the body.

  • Patent number: 6874219
Abstract: A disk clamp for securing disks to the hub of a spindle motor in a disk drive has symmetrically spaced apart countersunk apertures in the top surface of the disk clamp. The apertures enable the disk clamp to maintain a proper orientation before the fasteners are attached. This design overcomes issues related to rotation and displacement of the clamp while it is being fastened to the hub, and reduces the complexity of the tooling and fixtures required to complete the assembly. Less tooling complexity also allows multi-fastener driver systems to be employed so that all of the fasteners required to complete the assembly may be simultaneously attached arid driven into the disk clamp. The countersunk apertures on the disk clamp are designed to couple with tapered sleeves on the installation tool to quickly and precisely center the fasteners in the disk clamp while providing anti-rotation torque for the disk clamp.

A slide (42) is slidably mounted on the upper surface (34) of the first block (28) for movement between a first position at which it overhangs a portion of the block to expose part of its upper surface, and a second position at which it overlies the upper surface (34). When the slide (42) is at its first position, the upper surface (34) will support an end of the first connector (12). The slide, when displaced to its second position, itself supports an end of the second connector (12'). A second block (60), having a pair of opposed shelves (66 and 68) of a height h.sub.1 and h.sub.2, respectively, is rotatably mounted to the beam (26) distant from the first block (28).

Abstract: A method and apparatus for locating and clamping a piston (10, 110) between headstock and tailstock assemblies (18, 118 and 20, 120) before rotating same about a rotary axis (22, 122) in a machining operation is characterized by an equalizing mechanism or member (50, 150) for equalizing the axial force between a pair of equalizing pins (48, 148) of a first set of axially extending locating pins (46, 48; 146, 148) to thereby create a locating plane on a first surface of the workpiece. The first set of axially extending pins coacts with a second set of axially extending equalizing pins (30, 130) to clamp the workpiece therebetween. The first set of locating pins are located in a housing member (38, 138). The first set of pins also includes two fixed locating pins (48, 148) which contact the outer surface of the piston.

  • Patent number: 4646419
Abstract: An apparatus (10) for engaging a printed circuit board (12) positioned in rough alignment therewith comprises an housing (14) having a bore (16) which is partially tapered (20). Loosely mounted within the bore is a sleeve (24) having a tapered portion (30) complementary to the tapered portion (20) of the bore. A pin (36) is spring-biased within the sleeve and extends therefrom beyond the housing for insertion into a tooling hole (76) in the printed circuit board upon movement of the sleeve into the bore in the housing. While the tapered portion (30) on the sleeve remains spaced from the tapered section (20) of the bore, the pin is capable of limited lateral movement about the axis of the bore which virtually eliminates wedging or sticking thereof in the tooling hole. Once the sleeve is fully inserted into the housing, the tapered portion on the sleeve nests with the tapered section of the bore, rigidly locking the pin in place.
