Abstract: A vise clamp has an elongated body which fits into a T-shaped slot of a tool table. The body has a head at one end which extends out of the slot and pair of pivotal lugs which fit under the side shoulder of the slot. Means are provided to provide a pivoting action which tends to pivot the head toward the table surface to tend to clamp a tool such as a vise against the table. The major portion of the clamp thus remains recessed below the table surface. The clamp permits making a low profile swivel base vise that has the clamps positioned below the vise base and yet they are easily operated.
Abstract: Toggle clamps, such as used for factory fixtures, typically have clamping arms which in use extend over a workpiece or workpieces; to remove the workpieces and insert new ones, the clamping arms must be opened wide, typically through an angle greater than 90.degree.. In prior fixtures this is done by utilizing a conventional four-bar linkage; the fixed geometry of such linkages provides no tolerance for clamping workpieces of different thicknesses except by screw-adjustment of a clamping foot. The present toggle clamp adjusts itself to a wide range of thicknesses. One of its members has a hollow containing a sliding locking wedge mechanism pivot-connected to the toggle link member of the mechanism; before it assumes the angle for toggle action, the wedge mechanism is held from locking by a cam on this link member. The sides of the hollow member are slotted, the pivot pin extends through the slot so that, for wide angle opening, the link can pull on the pin.
Abstract: A power actuated workpiece clamp includes a clamping arm actuated by linear movement of a powered actuator member via a compound linkage. The linkage is such that the arm is maintained in the clamping position by a linkage geometer wherein three pivots of the compound linkage lie in a common plane aligned with the line of action of the force urging the clamp arm to its open position.
Abstract: A two step pressure intensifier adapted for use as a clamp or a via including a housing cylinder which sealingly houses a telescoping cylinder. The telescoping cylinder is extended rapidly outward by application of low pressure to hydraulic fluid within the telescoping cylinder. Upon meeting resistance, the extension speed of the telescoping cylinder is slowed down and high presssure is applied. The use of a small diameter force input rod or piston is encompassed by a close fitting input portion of the telescoping piston so that the two pistons move together during a portion of both their force and retraction strokes.
Abstract: A clamp is disclosed which has a clamp block provided with a clamp surface for engaging a mould, die or the like. The clamp has a wedging member engageable with the clamp block and a rod receivable in a bore in the block. The rod is normally biased out of the bore so that a piston and cylinder assembly can be actuated so that the piston moves the rod and wedging member and also the clamp block to a position adjacent the mould, die or the like, whereupon continued movement of the piston forces the rod into the bore and the wedge member under the clamp block to pivot the clamp block into clamping engagement with the mould, die or the like.
Abstract: A holding device used in a drawing-in device for inserting winding coils into a stator core of an electrical machine from a transfer tool carrying the winding coils. The holding device includes a stationary cam plate defining therein a cam groove and a pusher block supporting a holding down-plate, which pusher block bears guide rollers cooperating with the cam groove so that the holding-down plate is guided to the stator core disposed on the transfer tool and then applies a force in the direction of the stator core axis about which an associated rotor of electrical machine is rotated.
Abstract: Workpiece clamp assembly adapted to engage a T-slot of a work table to provide horizontal, vertical, or a combination of horizontal and vertical clamping for a workpiece positioned on said work table.
Abstract: A hydraulically actuatable swing clamp, having a piston arranged within a housing, the piston rod of which extends in sealed manner out of the housing and carries a clamping arm, and which, in addition to an axial clamping movement, carries out a turning movement corresponding to a guide device, the turning movement effecting a swinging of the clamping arm, the guide device comprising a control bolt extending into the piston and being arranged normally non-rotatably on the housing, and at least two pairs of control curves, formed in a guide surface between the control bolt and the piston, and a guide member arranged on the piston or control bolt extending into the control curve. The guide member comprises at least two diametrically opposite and axially staggered guiding members.
Abstract: A clamp for releasably securing a workpiece to a support surface comprising a fixed member, a single stud mounting the fixed member to the support surface, a movable clamping member slidably coupled to the fixed member, and a handle-actuated toggle mechanism for reciprocating the clamping member into and out of the clamping position and for locking it in such position. A secondary release mechanism, in addition to the handle, is slidably mounted to the fixed member and has a cam thereon which cams the toggle mechanism out of its locking position.
Abstract: Workpiece clamp for use on the table of a machine tool, provided with an inverted T-shaped slot, the clamp consisting of a main body which overlies the table and is telescopingly mounted for vertical sliding motion on a base slidable in the T-shaped slot. The main body and the base are each provided with a horizontal extension. The horizontal extensions are vertically aligned for clamping a workpiece between the horizontal extension of the main body and the table. Apparatus are provided for locking the main body on the base in a plurality of relative vertical positions.
Abstract: Clamping apparatus for clamping a work piece onto a work table remote from the edges of the work table. Apparatus includes a main support member and first and second engaging members spaced along and extending from the support member so that outer ends of the engaging members cooperate with the work table. Jacking apparatus cooperates with one of the engaging members to move the engaging member relative to the support member. This clamps the work piece onto the work table with a clamping surface associated with the main support item. Each engaging means can be quickly adjusted to accommodate work pieces and work tables of different depths. The clamping surface can be resiliently mounted relative to the support member to increase versatility of clamping apparatus.
Abstract: A work holding table wherein a generally U-shaped yoke receives in its opening or throat the edge margin of a table top for selective positioning of the yoke about the table margin. An arm is carried by the yoke and extends over the table for downward pressing engagement with a work piece on the table to clamp the latter and cock or jam the yoke in position with respect to the table.

Abstract: A work clamp for clamping a workpiece to a work table with a clamp member which extends and retracts to and from clamping position with a compound motion having components parallel to and normal to the table in a manner such that extensile movement of the member occurs both parallel to the table to a position over the workpiece and toward the table to clamp the workpiece against the table, and retractile movement of the member occurs both away from the table to release the workpiece and parallel to the table to clear the workpiece for removal from and placement on the table.
