Abstract: A method for symmetric authentication is provided. This method includes generating a first challenge message containing a first string; encrypting the first challenge message; transmitting the encrypted first challenge message to a second device; receiving a first answer message from the second device; decrypting the first answer message; and authenticating the second device based on determining the decrypted first answer message contains the first string. Upon successful authentication of the second device, the method further includes receiving an encrypted second challenge message from the second device; decrypting the encrypted second challenge message; generating a second answer message containing a second string; encrypting the second answer message; and transmitting the encrypted second answer message to the second device.

Abstract: An apparatus for keeping a deceased person's mouth closed is disclosed herein. The apparatus ensures that the deceased person's mouth does not open during a period of muscle relaxation that immediately follow death, and ensures that the deceased mouth is not open during rigor mortis, which makes it more difficult to close the deceased open mouth later. The apparatus is comprised of various modular and swappable elements to ensure universal fit, as well as anti-slippage elements that ensure that the apparatus does not slip off a person's body when in use.

Abstract: A seat headrest is provided that includes a mounting plate for attachment to a seat back of the seat. First and second side wings are mounted on opposite ends of the mounting plate. The side wings are mounted for pivotal movement between a retracted position against the mounting plate and a deployed position extending outwardly away from the mounting plate, and for sliding movement between the retracted position against the mounting plate and a further deployed position extending outwardly away from the mounting plate.

Abstract: An airway positioning device facilitates the maintenance of a patent airway by correctly positioning a patient's head during anesthesia. A flat base supports a supine patient's head. A pair of rails slope downward from a first end of the base to a second end of the base. A track mounts with at least one of the rails. At least one adjustable support arm movably mounts with the track via a locking coupling device at an end of the arm distal to the patient's head. A patient engaging member mounted with an end of the arm proximal to the patient's head supports the patient's head in a desired position during an operation or procedure.

Abstract: A chinstrap having a band portion with at least two head straps, one head strap fitting around a crown of a head of a person wearing the chinstrap, and one head strap fitting around a back of the head. The chinstrap has an adjustment mechanism to change a size of the band portion. The chinstrap also has a form-fitting non-slip chin pocket attached to the band portion. In an example, the chinstrap may be used to assist in holding the mouth of the person closed after death until a medication to freeze jaw muscles is injected following death during an embalming process so that an invasive mandibular septum stitch is not needed to secure the mouth closed.

Abstract: A user or assistant operated device for elevation and forward thrusting of the jaw for mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea is disclosed. The device includes a base configured to contact a torso of a wearer, a chin support configured to contact a jaw of the wearer, and a jack extending between the base and the chin support. In this regard, the jack is length adjustable and configured to elevate the chin support relative to the base such that the jaw is thrust forward relative to the torso.

Abstract: The present invention provides an embalming weighted positioning device for maintaining and/or restoring a cadaver in a substantially normal lifelike appearance before, during, and after the embalming process, comprised of a flexible, conformable adherent container that allows for the nesting of two or more containers. The container can have a fill spout with a removable cover for filling or emptying the container with particulates and/or air before, during or after the embalming process. Also provided is a method for maintaining and/or restoring the body parts of a cadaver to a substantially normal lifelike appearance by controlling body fluid deposition in the body of a cadaver, and by positioning the body parts of a cadaver before, during and/or after the embalming process, by placing at least one container on top of, under or next to a body part of the cadaver.

Abstract: The jaw supporting device for use on a deceased person is a one-piece, U-shaped jaw rest for resting against and gripping around the front of the neck of the deceased person. The U-shaped element has a curved portion at the bottom of the U-shape, with the curved portion having an upper side and a lower side. A jaw rest portion is formed at the upper side of the curved portion for engaging and supporting the jaw of the deceased person when the U-shaped element is positioned against the front of the neck of the deceased person. A chest or collar engaging portion can be formed at the lower side of the curved portion for engaging against the chest or collar bone when the U-shaped element is positioned against the front of the neck of the deceased person.
