Control For Feeding Responsive To Delivering Patents (Class 271/3.06)
  • Patent number: 11629020
Abstract: A paper conveying device, used in a paper processing device to perform predetermined processing on paper, includes a conveying portion, a holding portion, a detection portion, and a control portion. The conveying portion conveys, in a conveying direction, the paper to a processing portion of the paper processing device. The holding portion is disposed downstream of the processing portion in the conveying direction and holds the paper processed by the paper processing device. The detection portion detects a change of an orientation of the paper held by the holding portion. The control portion releases the paper held by the holding portion in a case where an amount of the detected orientation change reaches a predetermined amount.

  • Patent number: 8213853
Abstract: A system and method are provided for recovering from print assembly failure in a printer with printed medium assembly capabilities. The method generates a first print set including a plurality of physical medium sheets, and stores the first print set of a first interim stacker. A second print set is generated including a plurality of physical medium sheets. Sheets are accessed sheets from the first interim stacker and assembled with sheets from the second print set, generating a final print set with a plurality of sheets in a first order. The final print set is stored in an output stacker. In the event of a first print set failure, first print set replacement sheets are generating. In one aspect, generating the final print set includes directly merging first print set replacement sheets (bypassing the interim stacker) with sheets from the second print set.

  • Patent number: 7055816
Abstract: A method and apparatus for processing a stream of sheet-like products, such as printed magazines and newspapers, whereby the orientation of the products in the stream is changed to facilitate subsequent processing. The products are conveyed in an imbricated stream, or in a non-imbricated stream, and sections of adjacent products are combined into stacks which are conveyed away from the trailing products once the stacks are formed. The stacks are then further processed so that the products in each stack are disposed in a reverse order in relation to their original order, i.e. last in/first out.

  • Patent number: 6726197
Abstract: A device for conveying a document of the present invention includes an insertion sensor for sensing a document inserted into the device. A conveying member conveys the document to a preselected reading position. A discharging member drives the document read out of the device. A discharge sensor senses the trailing edge of the document at a position adjoining the discharging member. When the discharge sensor senses the trailing edge of the document being discharged by the discharging member, a controller interrupts the operation of said discharging member. When the insertion sensor senses the next document after the discharging member has nipped the trailing edge of the preceding document, the controller inhibits the conveying member from conveying the next document.

  • Patent number: 6236450
Abstract: An image forming apparatus is provided with an automatic document feeder. Even if a document is jammed in the automatic document feeder, what is required of the user is to set all documents on a document tray once again, including the jammed document, documents from which image information have already been copied, and documents from which image information have not yet been copied. Of the documents re-set on the document tray, the documents from which image information have been copied are discharged onto a discharge tray, without executing a copying operation. In other words, a copying operation is executed only for the documents from which image information have not been copied. The number of documents from which image information are copied is counted by checking the outputs from an alignment sensor.
