  • Patent number: 5085434
Abstract: An apparatus having a base with a plurality of magnetic members attached thereto, an arm connected to the base and extending upwardly above the base, and a rigid rod articulated to one end of the arm. The rigid rod has a magnet attached to the end of the rod opposite the arm. This magnet is interactive with the magnetic members of the base. The magnetic members are arranged in a circular pattern within the base. Each of the plurality of magnetic members extends upwardly in the base such that it has a common magnetic pole adjacent an upper surface of the base. A reverse polarity magnet is fastened within the base generally central of the circular pattern of the plurality of magnetic members. The arm has a ball joint that allows the rigid rod to be articulated to the arm. A magnet is affixed to the end of the dowel rod and has a polarity opposite the polarity of the plurality of magnetic members. Indicator pads are provided on the surface of the base adjacent to the plurality of magnetic members.

  • Patent number: 4848768
Abstract: A toy spinner in the shape of a birthday cake which uses sequentially flashing lights to duplicate the rotational movement of a pointer and also provides a clicking sound characteristic of a carnival-type fortune wheel. The spinner has a turntable which carries a single light bulb which sequentially illuminates a series of lamps arranged in a circle to mimic the action of a rotating pointer. Rotation of the turntable activates an electrical circuit which remains activated after the turntable stops for a dwell period to indicate by a lighted bulb the segment at which the pointer has stopped. The spinner may be used with a game board and markers. Indicia on the segments are tied into the markers and indicia on the markers are related to elements on the game board.

  • Patent number: 4754980
Abstract: A game apparatus consisting of a housing, the interior of the housing has electrical wiring and a power switch including a switching means, for starting and stopping a toy motor. The motor being coupled to spin a multi-disk assembly. The disks are divided into sectors and each sector as a symbol marking printed thereon. When the switching means causes the motor to spin, the disks free-spin around the motor shaft. When the switching means disconnect the motor from the electrical power source, the disks coast to a stop. An indicating means designates two random symbols in alignment. The random symbol generator in conjunction with a multiplication type game board is used as a "non-problem solving" educational game.In an another embodiment, the random symbol generator is used in conjunction with a marble operated switching means, wherein a marble is aimed at a target opening, its entrance into the target opening closes the switching means, thereby causing the multi-disk symbol generator to spin.

  • Patent number: 4690657
Abstract: An amusement device comprising first and second magnetic members; the first magnetic member being freelymovable in a base and the second magnetic member suspended from a tether and support arm attached to the base to a position within the influence of the first magnetic member. The second magnetic member is secured at one end to the tether in a manner by which the repulsive interaction between the two magnets maintains the second magnetic member essentially parallel to the base and perpendicular to the tether. The second magnetic member is freely rotatable around the point of tether attachment such that movements of the first magnetic member cause corresponding changes in the rotational orientation of the second magnetic member.

  • Patent number: 4211414
Abstract: Novelty game apparatus for predictably and alterably selecting alternate activities. The apparatus comprises a base printed with indicia to indicate alternate activities. A pointer rotatably attached to the base alternately indicates one of the alternate activities. Magnets disposed on the base and the pointer operatively attract and repel the pointer to select a predetermined category of activities.

  • Patent number: 4171813
Abstract: A chance device for randomly selecting one of a plurality of radial directions on a game board. The device includes a housing defining an internal cavity and a plurality of light transmitting apertures defined generally around the periphery of the housing. An illuminator is rotatably mounted within the housing by an indexing mechanism causing the illuminator to stop adjacent one of the apertures. The chance device further includes a switch for alternately energizing the illuminating device at the termination of rotation to direct a flashing beam through the selected aperture. The game board includes a position for mounting the chance device and radial indicia extending away from the chance device in directions aligned with the apertures defined in the housing.

  • Patent number: 4090715
Abstract: A toy top device adapted for a variety of uses is provided which utilizes a solar energy conversion means for powering the top. The device includes a base structure having an electric motor mounted to it so that a motor shaft and rotor assembly of the motor remain stationary while a stator assembly of the motor rotates. An enclosure is mounted to the stator assembly and rotates with it. The enclosure includes a translucent top wall and a side wall which together define a cavity. The enclosure carries the solar energy conversion means in light communicating relationship with the top wall, and is electrically connected to the motor. The enclosure preferably has a design silhouette resembling a conventional toy top. It may be used as a conventional spinning toy top. However, the device is adaptable to various uses by simple interconnection of additional structure to the enclosure.

  • Patent number: 3975022
Abstract: This invention is concerned with an electrically operated game device wherein a number selector means consisting of at least two electrically actuated spinnable pointers are provided to select or indicate at random a set of numbers, which numbers form possible arithmetical combinations. The rotation of each of said spinnable pointers is made variable and sequential by the use of a timing device. A horizontally disposed playing glass panel is disposed forwardly of said number selector means, said playing panel having several transverse rows of numerical indicia outlined thereon whereby all the possible arithmetical combinations arising from the randomly indicated numbers could be reflected thereon. An electrical control panel is provided wherein a set of switches are provided to actuate the number selector means and the lighting means disposed on said playing panel.
