  • Patent number: 6158738
Abstract: A die which generates higher values of random numbers. The die for generating a randomly occurring number between 1 and X comprises: a central body which has a lateral cross section which is an x sided polygon having sides of equal length when cut perpendicularly anywhere along a longitudinal axis. A number ranging between 1 and x is marked on an upper portion of the die when the die is resting on a lateral side, said number designating the side on which the die is resting.

  • Patent number: 5938197
Abstract: A die construction includes a body having first and second, opposite end caps and an extension member therebetween. The extension member has a first number of discrete facets and no more than the first number. Each of the discrete facets is identically shaped and have equal surface areas. The first end cap has a second number of discrete facets and no more than the second number. The second number is one-half of the first number. Each of the first end cap discrete facets is identically shaped and has an equal surface area to one another. The second end cap has the second number of discrete facets, that is, the same number as the first end cap, and has no more than the second number. Each of the second end cap discrete facets is identically shaped as the first end cap discrete facets. Each of the second end cap discrete facets has a surface area equal to a surface area of each of the first end cap discrete facets.

  • Patent number: 5342049
Abstract: A gaming machine combines a random selection feature with a skill feature to allow the player to utilize his ability to manipulate the skill feature to improve his chances of winning on the gaming machine. A reel slot machine is combined with a playing surface using a ball. The reel slot machine is first activated and a combination of slot symbols are randomly selected. The player manipulates a ball about a playing surface and the travel of the ball can result in additional spins of one or more reels of the slot machine so that other winning opportunities can be created. The gaming machine can be operated so that the playing surface is only activated when the player achieves a losing combination on the reel slot machine portion. This allows the player a second chance to win if he can use his skill on the playing surface to respin the reel slots. The player can also win "bonus" amounts as set out on a predetermined schedule of payouts by his skillful manipulation of the ball on the playing surface.

  • Patent number: 4227690
Abstract: A game apparatus in which die is provided with two stub axles which project out from opposite faces thereof. The game includes a base which has a channel extending thereacross equipped with spaced and parallel ramps on the sides thereof which are inclined downwardly from the ends of the channel towards the center of the base. A vertical slot is provided at the center extending downwardly from the ramps. The die is allowed to roll down one pair of ramps from one end of the channel with the axles of the die engaging the ramps. When the die reaches the center of the channel, its axles fall down the vertical slots, and the die drops to the bottom of the channel coming to rest with one of its faces exposed. Sets of flippers are pivotally mounted along selected sides of the base for individual movement by different players from outer positions to inner positions. When any flipper is in its inner position, its distal end covers the exposed face of the die.
