  • Publication number: 20130049298
Abstract: A game of skill and chance for one or more players which utilizes a single set of numbered pieces. Each number on each piece corresponds to a number in the Fibonacci series, for example: 8, 13, 21, 34, 55 and 89 or a similar series: 2, 3, 5, 8, 13 and 21 where each number is equal to the sum of the prior two numbers. Individual game pieces are identified by a number and a corresponding color and may also be of a corresponding size. A player obtains a game piece at each turn without knowing which numbered piece will be received. A player assembles groups of pieces on a game board or on a play area during and between turns with the objective of collecting six groups of numbers that add to the highest number in the series with each group starting with one number in the series being employed in the game. A player's game is completed when the six groups have been assembled. Players compete with each other to finish first, each player taking a piece from the shared set in turn.

Abstract: A game of skill and strategy wherein at least two players alternate turns and place at least one game token in at least one open border slot surrounding one or more playing zones. Each player can then claim one or more zones by placing at least one game token within one or more of the zones when one of said players converts the last open border slot to a closed border slot, thereby completely surrounding said one or more of the zones. A winner is determined by evaluating the number of zones claimed by each player, and there are various ways to win.

  • Patent number: 6276687
Abstract: A board game, comprising a game board, a scoreboard, playing pieces, and a playing method and strategy. The game board includes a grid of approximately sixty-four spaces. The game may be played between two players or two teams. The game includes two sets of thirty-two (32) game pieces, each set being a different color with one color for each player/team. The object of the game is for each player, in turn, to place their game pieces on the board within the spaces provided in a manner that forms squares of one color. The spaces between the corners of the squares must be equal but do not have to be filled in to receive points. An additional object is to place game pieces in positions that prevent the opponent from completing squares. The squares may be horizontal or diagonal. Points are won for each square formed of one color, with more points being awarded for larger squares. The point system is preferably based on the number of spaces between the corners of the squares.

  • Patent number: 5553854
Abstract: The present invention relates to a board game and method of playing the game. The game involves a strategic means for defining paths along the game board. The game board is preferably configured as 9.times.9 lines, creating 64 squares with a black cross piece in the center. Each of the squares is raised, creating a recess therein in which pieces can be inserted. The inserted pieces include pawns and connector pieces. The connector pieces can either be I-shaped, L-shaped or T-shaped, or cross-shaped. Each player is provided with a set of pawns and connector elements as described above. The object of the game is to start at the center cross section, each player to continue with his pawn and connector piece, thereby defining the paths that the next player can take. The game is played until an opponent can move no further, or the opponent with the fewest pieces on hand at the end of the game wins.

  • Patent number: 4569528
Abstract: A game device utilizing the old and well known concept of connecting adjacent dots of a matrix of dots by utilizing a connecting line formed by a player during his period of play. In this known type of game device, the matrix of dots is usually arranged periodically in a horizontal and vertical array with the purpose of the game being to complete more squares than an opponent. The present invention provides a tri-level gameboard with each level having a number of dots thereon with each level also including a predetermined number of fixed and optional "stops" that are distinguishable by color and/or configuration to prevent a player from capturing the enclosed shape, such as a square, triangle or the like having any side composed of a "stop" thereby introducing the use of skill and strategic planning by the players inasmuch as a player, by judicious use of the "stops" can decisively control the outcome of the game.

  • Patent number: 4550916
Abstract: Cube game of skill and chance in which players insert rod shaped playing piece through apertures on one face of a hollow cube. Long pieces protrude through opposing holes on the opposite playing surface and short pieces do not. Either playing pieces dislodge the opponent's playing piece if it occupies a corresponding aperture. Unique light blocking channels between opposing apertures are formed from either drooping flexible tubing or drooping collapsible woven mesh tubing. The collapsed channels block light when no playing piece is present and open to allow the insertion of the playing pieces. Playing pieces may be assigned both negative and positive scoring value. Pads are provided to protect the expelled piece and the surface upon which the game is placed.

  • Patent number: 4513973
Abstract: A pocket-sized electronic board game is disclosed. The apparatus for playing the game comprises a casing which serves also as the playing surface, through which project a plurality of push-buttons for actuating the keys in selected positions. A membrane-type key board may alternatively be used. The push-buttons and keys are arranged in a plurality of rows and columns with elongate light sources extending parallel to the rows of columns and between adjacent pairs of row-wise or column-wise keys. The electronic circuit within the casing acts to detect depression of two adjacent keys in any row or column and operates when such detection is made to cause the light source between the two actuated keys to illuminate and remain illuminated until the end of the game so that by depressing pairs of keys in turn players can "claim" sides of the squares constituted by the light sources.
