Target Pivots Patents (Class 273/390)
  • Patent number: 11969635
Abstract: A game apparatus including an obstructing member connected to a target member. A front side of the target member lies substantially in a first plane. The front side of the target member has an area on the first plane. The obstructing member is rotationally supported by a supporting means; wherein the obstructing member is configured to rotate with respect to the target member; and the obstructing member is configured such that, when the obstructing member is in the first orientation with respect to the target member, a projectile having a sufficient velocity and mass striking a particular area of one of the protruding pieces will cause rotational movement of the obstructing member toward the second orientation so that another projectile propelled toward the front side of the target member can reach a portion of the front side of the target member that is not obstructed by the obstructing member.

  • Patent number: 6478301
Abstract: A shooting target includes: a pair of support members; a horizontal threaded shaft supported by the support members; and a spinning target positioned on, supported by, and rotatably engaged with the threaded shaft. The spinning target includes a threaded sleeve that translates along the threaded shaft as the sleeve rotates; a pair of opposing arms secured to the sleeve and extending in opposing directions; a pair of flattened target plates secured to the arms; and a pair of weights each secured to and slidable along the respective arm. The sliding weights insure that the spinning target comes to rest vertically. The threaded sleeve may be made sufficiently over-sized so as to enable disengaging of the sleeve and sliding of the sleeve along the threaded shaft. A deflector plate may be provided in front of the threaded shaft to protect it from projectile impacts.

  • Patent number: 6257583
Abstract: An economical reaction shooting target consisting of three targets movably secured to a frame that supports the targets above the ground. Initially, a central target that stands vertically is presented to the shooter. The central target pivotally attaches to the frame so that the central target falls backward once a bullet strikes it. When the central target falls backward, ears on the central target disengage arms provided on two spring loaded side targets, allowing the side targets to swing forward and be presented to the shooter. Various images of good guys and bad guys may be randomly chosen to be attached to the side targets, requiring the shooter to quickly determine whether to shoot the images on the side targets.

  • Patent number: 6155571
Abstract: A toy target game includes a plurality of targets rotatably mounted on a shaft. Each of the targets is mounted inside a sleeve which is also rotatably mounted on the shaft. Each target includes a depiction of a first character on a first end and a depiction of a second character on an opposite second end. Each target is mounted on the shaft through a transverse opening in the target at a midpoint of the target. Each sleeve is rectangular in cross-section and includes slots on opposing sides of the sleeve, through which the shaft passes. When the targets are aligned in a normal, vertical position, each sleeve covers the end of the target which is below the shaft, while leaving the end of the target which is above the shaft exposed.

  • Patent number: 5580062
Abstract: An aluminum beverage can is suspended in the air between two arms applying tension, outwardly pulling on the top and bottom of the can through a series of attachments including anchoring attachments to the arms attaching to swivels attaching to axle rods that attach to the top and bottom of the can. This array is supported by upright standards that are adjustable in height. The axle rods and anchors which attach to the arms have a shape that allows them to remain secured to the swivels and arms, but are easily disassembled as well. The can is held as a fired upon target during a game in which the shooter trys to shoot the can in two. The can spins on a central axis when a projectile strikes it off center. When large sections have been ripped away the can opens under the tension applied to it. The adjustable upright standards allow the can center to be positioned to the user's preference in relation to the bore line of the gun.
