Abstract: A shooting target having two overlaid target sheets. The front sheet provides a user with a photorealistic image of a desired target object (e.g., game animal or human assailant). Behind the front sheet is another sheet having the same image thereon, but with portions of that target which represent vital organs superimposed over the appropriate portions of the target's body. Having the rear sheet that provides the user with the marksmanship feedback behind the visible target sheet provides a more realistic shooting experience by eliminating the “aim-points” of traditional targets. Further, the dual layer target produces a “souvenir” sheet that readily shows which vital organ was struck.

The dartboard includes a center scoring region at the center of the dartboard, concentric rings of varying radii surrounding the center scoring region, and multiple scoring regions within each ring labeled with either a yardage target label or an alphabetic label describing a state of play. The cards include starting yard line cards, yard line cards, red zone cards, interception or fumble cards, and penalty cards. The yard line cards indicate on one side of each card a yard range on a simulated football field corresponding to a player's position on this field and on an opposite side of each card a plurality of yardage targets to be achieved by the player by means of darts thrown at the dart board.

Abstract: An archery target configured to absorb an impact of an associated arrow. The target having a stand having a top side and a bottom side and the bottom side including a support structure for supporting the archery target on an associated surface. The top side including a target rest shaped to receive a portion of an outer perimeter of a cylindrical target portion in shaped engagement. The target portion having a front side and a back side which extend between the outer perimeter and define a target depth and including a central core extending between front and back sides of the target. The core defining a target axis coaxial with the outer perimeter and the target portion further including at least one general planar sheet having side edges defining a sheet width that is generally equal to the target depth and a sheet surface between the side edges.

Abstract: A frame structure holds a paper roll in the top part and releasable spring loaded pressure bars hold the roll and the leading edge of the paper stretched taut across the frame for shooting arrows through the paper and release to allow feeding a hole-free portion of paper from the roll. Once the paper is fed, springs pull the pressure bars together to apply pressure to the top of the paper roll and the leading edge of the paper on the opposite side of the frame so that the paper is held tight. An arrow may be shot through the tight paper to determine the trueness of flight. If the arrow flies true, the tear of the fletching is evenly spaced around the hole of the shaft.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention include a method for engaging a dart with a net. A dart is thrown toward a net. When the dart hits the net, the nose of the dart passes through an opening in the net for subsequently, lodging strands of the net in a recess situated behind the nose of the dart. Embodiments further include a recreational toy assembly having in combination a net and a dart. One or more strands of the net lodge in a recess behind the nose of the dart for coupling the dart to the net. The dart remains engaged to the net until the dart is removed from engagement with the net. For disengaging the dart from the net, the strand(s) is/are removed from the recess such that the nose of the dart may be passed out of opening in the net. The strands of the net provide the boundary or perimeter of the opening.

Abstract: Firearm targets and methods for manufacturing firearm targets are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a target includes a substrate, a release layer on the substrate, and an ink layer on the release layer such that the release layer is positioned between the ink layer and the substrate. The ink layer at least partially defines a target image. The ink layer has a first section with a first color and a second section with a second color different than the first color.

Abstract: An archery target including a rigid frame including a target side, a sheet secured to the frame on a target side to create an interior compartment bounded by the sheet and the frame, a compressed density material in the compartment and a backing. The sheet can be a filtration screen constructed from synthetic polymers, optionally polyamide fibers, and can have a weight of 13 to 16 ounces per square yard, and can include parallel warp yarns formed from three pairs monofilament polyamide fibers, the three pairs of fibers twisted together to form a cable yarn, as well as parallel fill yarn formed from a single monofilament polyamide fiber. A related method includes: providing a rigid frame; securing a sheet to the frame to create an interior compartment; compressing a density material; and securing a backing to the frame.
