  • Patent number: 11873900
Abstract: Provided is a gasket, and more particularly, to a gasket including a C-ring end formed at at least one side of a kammprofile. According to the present invention, a higher bolting force and restoring force may be secured than those of other gaskets having the same size as the gasket. Furthermore, a core spring may be easily fixed and attached to the gasket through the C-ring end formed at the kammprofile without an external jacket. Accordingly, production costs may be decreased by simplifying the structure of the gasket as described above.

  • Patent number: 11796089
Abstract: A gasket retainer that is absent sharp corners, has apertures of reasonable dimensional tolerance, and may be conveniently made by a variety of manufacturing processes. The retainer is made from thin flat springy material that readily returns to form after slight bending. Representative gasket capturing apertures are of smoothly non-convex outline with major dimension sufficiently large to allow passage of a ring shaped gasket turned on edge and minor dimension sufficiently small to engage, on approximately opposite circular segments that each engage along less than one third of a gasket circumference, a cavity or groove on the outside diameter periphery of the gasket turned flat parallel to the retainer material sheet. Fasteners may be retained by similar apertures.

Abstract: A metal laminate gasket of the invention is formed of first, second and third metal plates. The first metal plate includes a curved portion to define a first hole corresponding to a hole of an engine to be sealed, and a flange extending from the curved portion. The second metal plate is located above a first base portion of the first metal plate, and has a second hole with a diameter greater than a size of the flange. The third metal plate is situated above the second metal plate, and includes an inner portion situated around a third hole under the flange. A stepped portion is formed between the inner portion and a third base portion by bending the third metal plate to have a thickness greater than that of the third metal plate. When the gasket is compressed, the stepped portion is disposed between an outer edge of the flange and an edge of the second hole and provides a surface pressure thereat. The stepped portion securely seals around the hole of the engine outside a main sealing device.

  • Patent number: 5873578
Abstract: A gasket has a flat body with openings provided for combustion chambers, lubricating fluid passages, engine coolant passages, and studs mounting a cylinder head on an engine block. Each of the combustion chamber openings is bordered by a sealing element defining an armor ring. Each armor ring has a tab located on its outer edge, extending over at least part of its periphery, attached to the gasket body enabling the armor ring to move perpendicularly to and/or in the plane of the gasket body.

  • Patent number: 5755447
Abstract: The invention is directed to a metal gasket for sealing a clearance between a pair of clamping members. The metal gasket is formed of a metallic base plate on which at least one opening is defined. An annular metallic shim is welded on the base plate around the opening thereof. The annular metallic shim is disposed around the opening, and welded on the base plate by spot welding, forming a plurality of nuggets in series around the shim in such a manner that two adjacent nuggets overlaps each other and a space between those two nuggets is smaller than a diameter of each nugget.
