The outer wall or opposing ends of the seal have one or more pressure-energized seals for sealing between the body of the probe seal and the body of a coupling member in which the probe seal is installed. Annular, L-shaped, T-shaped or angled grooves in the inner wall of the seal form cavities and sealing projections that can be urged in an inward, radial direction by fluid pressure within an associated cavity to increase the sealing effectiveness between the body of the seal and the probe of a male hydraulic coupling member inserted in the receiving chamber of the female coupling member.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 17, 2014Publication date: June 12, 2014Applicant: National Coupling Company, Inc.Inventor: Robert E. Patent number: 8695988Abstract: A tube seal is provided including a rigid cylindrical tube and an elastomeric seal body molded to the outer surface of the cylindrical tube. The rigid cylindrical tube includes a recessed annular groove at each end thereof for receiving the elastomeric seal body therein to create a mechanical connection to resist the seal body from being pulled away from the cylindrical tube. The tube seal is also incorporated into a diameter reducing tube seal, an integrated tube seal and filter design and an integrated tube seal and valve design.Type: GrantFiled: May 21, 2007Date of Patent: April 15, 2014Assignee: Freudenberg-NOK General PartnershipInventor: Timothy T. Publication number: 20140091534Abstract: An assembly that includes first and second housing members, a gasket and a plurality of bolts that exert a clamp force to clamp the gasket between the first and second housing members. The gasket includes a plurality of tab members that engage the interior of one or both of the first and second housing members. The gasket tabs can resist a force exerted by a pressurized fluid within one or both of the first and second housing members. A gasket that is resistant to side loading due to a pressurized fluid is also provided.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 2, 2013Publication date: April 3, 2014Applicant: Black & Decker Inc.Inventors: James R. Publication number: 20140091533Abstract: A plug-in piece 1 for sealing connection of two mutually assigned cylindrical surfaces includes an essentially tubular support body 2, which on its ends exhibits annularly encircling sealing elements, which can be made to engage to produce a sealing connection with the cylindrical surfaces to be sealed, wherein at least one of the sealing elements is configured as an annularly encircling sealing bead 3, 30 on the outer surface of the support body 2, with a spherically curved sealing surface. Provision is made that the spherical radius of the sealing surface (3, 30) is chosen so that the center of the sphere is roughly at the axis of support body (2) symmetry. Thus, the compression forces are ensured to remain largely constant, independent of the angular setting over the entire surface of the sealing bead.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 28, 2013Publication date: April 3, 2014Applicant: Carl Freudenberg KGInventors: Hans UNGER, Ralf HELDMANN, Ingo STEPHAN, Markus CLEMENS, Carsten HARTMANN, Ernst JAKOB, Stephan REDDIG

Publication number: 20140062037Abstract: A profile element for connecting a vehicle pane to a water draining chamber includes a U-shaped snap-in recess formed by a bearing rib and a resilient leg disposed below the bearing rib. At an entrance into the snap-in recess, the bearing rib protrudes downward towards the resilient leg and the resilient leg protrudes upward towards the bearing rib so as to define an engagement aperture into the snap-in recess between an upper-most part of the protrusion of the resilient leg and a lower-most part of the protrusion of the bearing rib. A detent element is disposed in the snap-in recess behind the engagement aperture in an insertion direction of a rib of the water draining chamber.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 6, 2013Publication date: March 6, 2014Applicant: Elkamet Kunststofftechnik GmbHInventors: Wolfgang Platt, Michael Ortmueller, Daniel Weller
