  • Patent number: 7513270
Abstract: A safety relief valve provides for the equalization of backpressure across a valve spindle by providing for flow of fluid between equal sized upper and lower surfaces of the spindle in order to render the valve set point independent of backpressure, such that opening characteristics are controlled solely by the setting of the valve control spring. A seal preferably formed of TEFLON® is provided to prevent the escape of fluid from the valve body, which would otherwise adversely affect the pressure balance between the upper and lower surfaces.

Abstract: A panel-sealing and securing system for securing a panel to a mullion coupled with weather seal pressure gaskets for sealing exterior joints under high wind velocity. The mullion is formed in one piece or in two halves of a split mullion which occurs at the joint between multiple pre-fabricated units of a unitized grid system. The mullion has a concealed front corner cavity adjacent to panel for installing the panel-sealing and securing system. For weather sealing, elastic pressure gaskets and expansion joints comprising panel gasket seals at a joint between the panel and the mullion and mullion gasket seals at a joint between the two halves of split mullion where a unitized split mullion system is used. To securing the panel to the mullion and allow for thermal expansion movement of the panel, two segments formed in one piece or in two hinge connected pieces include a gasket holder segment and a spacer plate segment.

Abstract: A hollow seal for use in sealing between relatively movable first and second panels, such as between a fixed window panel and a slidable window panel of a rear window of a pick-up truck or the like. The hollow seal has an internal geometry that supports an outside layer or portion of the seal under pressurization to prevent leakage and seal blowout. The outside portion is shaped to provide a pair of laterally spaced-apart sealing lips that have a pressure-activated sealing geometry for tight sealing against the panels when under pressurization.

The sealing member 4 has an annular portion 41 and an annular portion 42. Most of the annular portions 41, 42 are located in a deep groove portion 31 and a shallow groove portion 32, respectively, and the volume of the annular portion 41 is larger than the volume of the annular portion 42. Furthermore, an annular protrusion 43, which protrudes downward, is provided in the boundary region between the annular portions 41, 42. An inclined section that is inclined at the prescribed inner angle Q is also formed in the boundary region.

Abstract: A seal rubber 3 is placed in a first peripheral groove 2 formed in one main surface 1A of an approximately flat-plate-shaped metal body 1. A second peripheral groove 4 and multiple communicating holes 5 to communicate between the second peripheral groove 4 and the first peripheral groove 2 are formed in the other main surface 1B of the metal body 1. A retaining rubber 6 disposed in the second peripheral groove 4, the seal rubber 3, and a bridge rubber 7 disposed in the communicating hole 5 are integrated. • Patent number: 7220109
Abstract: A compact opposed piston pump minimizes axial spacing between its pistons on the drive shaft and thereby reduces the shaking couple and noise from reciprocation. Each piston has its own eccentric element press-fit into the connecting rods so as not to occupy space between the pistons. The shaking couple can be further reduced for pistons of different masses by selecting the mass of the eccentrics to compensate for the difference in piston masses. The pump also includes an improved cylinder sealing arrangement having a circumferential groove in an angled surface at the end of the cylinder. The pump also has a special two piece cover and seal for closing the open neck of the pump crankcase and an improved multi-lobed valve stop. The pump further uses tubular transfer members for transferring intake and/or exhaust air into the crankcase and/or between valve heads.

Abstract: A seal for sealing a seal groove in a shroud of a turbine vane. The seal may include a cooling system configured to pass cooling fluids through a cooling fluid supply port in a shroud, through a cooling system in which the cooling fluids contact the shroud and the seal, and exhaust the fluids through a gap between adjacent turbine vanes. The seal may include an elongated cooling channel for channeling cooling fluids from a supply to an exhaust channel at a first end. The cooling system may remove heat from the turbine vane shroud, the seal, and other related components, thereby reducing the likelihood of premature failure.
