  • Patent number: 8123505
Abstract: An objective is to provide a reciprocating pump kept from lowering its performances, while restraining the cost from increasing. Collars 14, 20, 21 made of a material more excellent in resistance to corrosion than a manifold 3 are interposed between the manifold 3 and sealing members 10, 22, 23 for liquid-tightly sealing the manifold 3, so as to prevent the parts in contact with the sealing members 10, 22, 23 from being corroded by a liquid for use, and fully exhibit sealing functions, thereby preventing leakage from occurring in a pump chamber 4 and the pressure oscillation from being increased by the leakage, while the collars 14, 20, 21 made of the material excellent in resistance to leakage are used only in the parts in contact with the sealing members 10, 22, 23.

  • Patent number: 6651988
Abstract: An actuator for use in an active mount system for reducing vibration transmission from a vibrating component to a support structure. The actuator is disposed in a housing that is attached to the vibrating component or the support structure. The actuator includes a piston moveably disposed in a casing, and a piston rod assembly that is connected to the other one of the vibrating component or the support structure. A seal assembly, disposed either in a groove in the piston or in a groove in the casing, provides a seal between the piston and casing. The seal assembly includes an annular seal member comprising polytetrafluoroethylene resin, backing rings on each side of the seal member, and an annular compression spring in the groove between one of the backing rings and one edge of the groove.

  • Patent number: 6227548
Abstract: A seal such as a valve shaft seal for use with machine parts that reciprocate relative to each other includes an elastomer sealing lip adapted to rest with a radial spring preload on one machine part and a sleeve-shaped holder carrying the sealing lip and projecting axially beyond the sealing lip for serving to simultaneously attach the seal to a second machine part. To provide a seal with a relatively uncomplicated and inexpensive holder that ensures a safe and flawless attachment and centering, the portion of the holder projecting axially beyond the sealing lip is provided with at least one projection that is directed essentially at an angle towards the inside for engaging a recess in the outer surface of the second machine part.

  • Patent number: 6164659
Abstract: A piston rod seal includes a sealing disk provided with a reinforcement element, a guide mechanism, and a support piece which are adapted to be placed consecutively in a metal pipe or similar object functioning as a housing, and which are adapted to surround a piston rod when installed. To create a seal having relatively few components and a relatively small axial dimension, the reinforcement element is connected to the sealing disk and is constructed to function as a guide element for guiding the axial movement of the piston rod.
