Threaded Sleeve Patents (Class 279/101)
  • Patent number: 9841046
Abstract: A fastener with a locking mechanism includes an elongated bolt member with threaded segment defining a banking feature and generally planar surfaces, a nut member, a washer member, and a lock member. The nut member has a threaded bore for cooperating with the threaded segment of the bolt member and a peripheral edge with a flat side defining an axial slot. The washer member has a central bore with a banking portion that complements the banking feature of the bolt member such that, when the threaded segment is inserted in the central bore, the washer member moves axially and is rotatably fixed relative to the bolt member. The washer member has an axially projecting circumferential wall with radially inward facing engagement teeth for intermeshing with teeth of the lock member. The lock member has a spring finger upstanding from the annular body that is received in the axial of the nut member for fixing the lock member in rotation relative the nut member.

  • Patent number: 8052156
Abstract: A bit holder includes a shank, and a bit sleeve. The shank has a first end portion of a non-circular geometric equiangular cross-section for combining a hand tool, and a second end portion formed with a combining hole having female threads in its wall. The bit sleeve has a through hole for a bit to extend therein, male threads and a circular circumference. The bit sleeve is combined with the shank by engagement of the male threads with the female threads, and the bit sleeve may be rotated to fix with or loosen from the shank by an auxiliary tool for changing the bit. In assembling, the bit is inserted through the through hole of the bit sleeve, and then the male threads of the bit sleeve are engaged with the female threads of the shank by an auxiliary tool fitted with the circular circumference and rotated to keep the bit combined with the shank, with the bit sleeve pressing the bit so as to minimize the tolerance of the gap between them, thus enabling the bit to drive a screw smoothly into an object.

  • Patent number: 7568866
Abstract: The present invention relates to tools with replaceable tips and, more particularly, to arrangements for securing replaceable tips to tip holders. The tool includes a tip including a working end, a connecting end, and a radially extending abutment surface; a tip holder including a mating end for mating with the connecting end and a radially extending supporting surface for abutting against the abutment surface to limit axial movement of the tip relative to the tip holder. The connecting end is non-circular and includes a groove. The tool includes an assembly including the tip and the tip holder arranged such that, upon relative rotation of the tip and the tip holder in a connecting direction, an axial force is exerted on the groove and causes the abutment surface to move toward the supporting surface.

  • Patent number: 5807038
Abstract: A drill chuck for holding a tapered end of a tubular drill bit. The chuck comprises a driving member having a tapered surface for frictional engagement with the tapered end of the drill bit, a first holding member mounted on the driving member and a second holding member mounted, in use, on the tubular drill bit. The second member has a substantially radial surface thereon for abutment with a surface 31 on the drill bit. The two holding members can be screwed together whereby abutment between the substantially radial surface on the second holding member and the surface on the drill bit urges the tapered end of the tubular drill bit into frictional driving contact with the tapered surface of the driving member.
