    Abstract: A chuck for a tubular body having a noncircular outer surface and an interior formed with a gripping formation has a spindle extending along an axis, axially displaceable claws in the spindle each having a pair of opposite ends, and a gripper head engageable with one of the ends of each of the claws in the spindle. This head is displaceable between a holding position in which the claws engage the gripping formation in the tubular-body interior and an open position disengaged from the gripping formation. The jaws move on displacement between the open position and the holding position by engagement of the gripper head with their one ends in a first pivotal movement and then at their other ends in a second pivotal movement to press their other ends against the working spindle.

In the premounting device for the cutting ring fitting, the support elements (2) are arranged to be radially adjustable and in operational connection with the socket member (10) to provide the adjustment.

In one embodiment, a conically shaped cam engages exteriorly disposed clamping jaws for urging the jaws in a clamping direction. In another embodiment, an exteriorly located cam urges the jaws in a clamping direction. The number of jaws employed may vary with the shape of the metal casting tree to be gripped.

    Abstract: A fastener removing tool including a driver having a head positioned within a housing which is movable along a longitudinal axis of the housing. Several levers are pivotally mounted within the housing, which each include a fastener-engaging first end extending from the housing and a driver head-engaging second end disposed within the housing and biased toward the driver head. The driver head includes a cone-shaped wedge which engages the second ends of the levers, a thread body that engages the housing, and a shaft which extends from the body for connection to a power tool. Movement of the driver head in the first direction pivots the levers to move the fastener-engaging first ends toward the longitudinal axis and thus onto the fastener, and movement of the driver head in the second direction pivots the levers to move the fastener-engaging first ends away from the longitudinal axis and fastener.

    Abstract: An air pressurized chuck has a spindle journalled in a housing for rotation about a longitudinal axis. One means is mounted in a penultimate portion of the spindle and rotatable therewith for longitudinally reciprocating along the axis in one direction in response to the bias of a coil spring disposed concentrically about the axis between the spindle and the reciprocating means and in an opposite direction in response to a pneumatic force selectively applied to the reciprocating means in excess of the bias. Another means is mounted in an ultimate portion of the spindle and rotatable therewith for concentrically reciprocating gripping portions thereof in relation to the longitudinal axis in an outward direction in response to movement of the longitudinal reciprocating means in the one direction and in an inward direction in response to movement of the longitudinal reciprocating means in the opposite direction.
