Abstract: The invention relates to a clamping device, especially for releasably clamping a machine tool having a fixing element extending therefrom. The clamping device includes a deforming clamping element which acts on a clamping part with a clamping force in order to secure the fixing element to the clamping device. The deforming clamping element may also be controlled to act on the clamping part with a releasing force in order to release the fixing element from the clamping device. Both the clamping force and the releasing force result from the deformation of the deforming clamping element.
Abstract: A workholding apparatus including a body and a drive member carried by the body, so that the drive member and body partially define a fluid chamber therebetween for containing a fluid. A driven member is also carried by the body and includes multiple displacement reliefs therein. An intermediate member with a displacement relief is received between the drive and driven members. The intermediate member prevents the drive member from extruding through the displacement reliefs in the driven member under fluid pressures of the fluid, thereby enabling use of the apparatus under higher performance applications that would not be possible without the intermediate member.
Abstract: An adjustment device for adjusting the position of at least one cutter of a fine machining tool, particularly a reamer, with respect to a cutter support (ST) is described. To allow the cutter to be adjusted as precisely as possible, the cutter support (ST) borders at least one pressure chamber (DK) which is arranged in the adjustment direction of the cutter (S) with a displacement with respect to it and which is filled with a pressure medium which can be placed under pressure using a pressure generation device. Between the cutter (S) and the pressure chamber (DK), a cutter support wall (W) remains which is elastically deformable upon application of pressure by the pressure transfer means to adjust the cutter position.
Abstract: A chuck has a chuck body rotatable about a chuck axis, a plurality of holders angularly spaced about and radially displaceable on the body and each formed with an outwardly flared seat centered on a respective seat axis, and an actuator for radially displacing the holders on the body. Respective jaws on the holders each have an inwardly tapered stem complementary to and engaged snugly in the respective seat. Respective locking elements in the holders are each displaceable into a locking position securing the respective stem in the respective seat.
