Hosiery Patents (Class 28/154)
  • Patent number: 10927482
Abstract: The problem addressed by the present invention is to provide yarn, which includes an ultrafine filament, and that has superior handling properties, elongation and contraction properties, and with which a fabric and a fiber product of high quality can be obtained, a fabric using this yarn, and a fiber product using this yarn or fabric. The solution is imparting a binder to yarn that includes a filament A-1 with a single fiber diameter of 10 to 3000 nm and a fiber A-2 with a single fiber diameter greater than the filament A-1, and obtaining a fabric or fiber product using the yarn as necessary.

  • Patent number: 10392731
Abstract: Described herein are techniques for creating a three-dimensional woven textile products. A method includes rotating strands of warp yarns, where each strand of warp yarn is in a direction away from a surface, in a circular motion while moving a strand of weft yarn forwards and backwards in a direction parallel to the surface so as to cause the strand of weft yarn to alternately weave in and out of the strands of warp yarn. The method includes moving the strand of weft yarn in a direction away from the surface so as to cause the strand of weft yarn to alternately weave in and out of the strands of warp yarn at a different height to create a three-dimensional woven textile product. The method includes supplying at least one of the strand of warp yarn or the strand of weft yarn with a yarn generator.

Abstract: The present invention includes socks, as well as a method and a system for manufacturing socks. For example, a sock includes a first area and a second area, wherein the first area includes increased knitting relative to the second area. For example, a method intended for utilization in conjunction with a knitting machine comprising one or more needles, includes selectively controlling operation of said one or more needles by selectively modifying operation of at least one of said one or more needles.

  • Patent number: 7763324
Abstract: A composition for inhibiting noxious odors of a user's foot. The composition comprises an active ingredient of elemental sulfur, preferably in a micronized state, applied to an article to be deodorized, such as socks, stockings or other textile or footwear article intended to come into direct or indirect contact with the user's foot. The active ingredient may be combined with other substances in an effort to achieve stable adherence to the article and, thereby, provide lasting release of the active ingredient over time, even after subsequent cleaning of the article.

  • Patent number: 5964000
Abstract: A method for manufacturing pantyhose efficiently year round. The method includes dyeing and post-boarding the pantyhose during one portion of the year in the normal manner. During slack order times, the pantyhose are pre-boarded, folded and bagged for subsequent dyeing. A portion of the bagged pantyhose are then stored until orders are received and the correct dyes are known. In the preferred embodiment, a dye bag is used having a base portion sized approximately equal to the size of a pair of folded pantyhose. Between about 6 to 12 pair of the pantyhose are folded together before stacking into the dye bag. Between about 1 to 3 dozen of the folded together pantyhose are then dyed in a single dye bag. The pantyhose are then removed from the dye bag, dried, individually folded, and packaged for shipment to the end user.

  • Patent number: 5727294
Abstract: A continuous and uninterrupted process for knitting a plurality of cylindrical blanks, automatically transferring the knit blanks sequentially to a shrink apparatus, continuously shrinking the blanks for a predetermined period of time, and automatically transferring the shrunken blanks from the shrink apparatus to a remote location. The invention also includes an apparatus for carrying out the process having a shrink apparatus with a blank input conduit, a blank output conduit, a plurality of heating chambers, and means for transferring knitted tubular blanks from knitting machines to heating chambers. A heat source transfers heat to the heating chambers to heat and shrink the blanks, and an associated component automatically transfers the shrunken blanks to a remote location.

  • Patent number: 4186471
Abstract: A sheer hosiery construction and method is useful with sheer knee-high hosiery, panty hose, and other types of sheer, circular knit hosiery in which an appearance of substantial uniform color and sheerness, as worn, together with a reinforced toe are desired characteristics. A textured, relatively dull, nylon yarn is employed in knitting sheer leg and foot portions and then by yarn change a substantially non-textured, heavier, strand heat cured, relatively bright, nylon yarn is employed to knit the toe portion. An overall compatible yarn and fabric dye affinity is achieved which produces a sheer hosiery product having both a reinforced toe and an appearance of substantial uniform color and sheerness in the leg, foot and toe portions, as worn.

  • Patent number: 4137615
Abstract: A method for producing conventionally usable, stable, preshrunk and crimped yarn from greige self-crimping bicomponent or biconstituent yarn. The method employs a knit-de-knit procedure to impart a so-called mechanical crimp in the self-crimping yarn as that yarn is subjected to an initial heat treatment. The knit-de-knit process has been modified in order to knit the knit-de-knit tubular sleeve more loosely and to obtain a crimp rate per thread line inch within a predetermined range. The knit tubular sleeve is collected in the form of a fabric roll, the internal diameter of which is controlled so that during heating the yarn crimp can develop uniformly. The yarn produced thereby can be used to produce "to size" greige fabric or garments which exhibit better snag or pick resistance than such fabrics or garments produced from conventional greige yarn. These fabrics or garments can thereafter be subjected to normal finishing procedures.

  • Patent number: 4100769
Abstract: A method for manufacturing panty hose or like fabrics including two leg portions and a panty portion integral therewith, the leg portions being knitted as tubular portions by continuous rotary motion of a needle cylinder or needle cylinders of a circular knitting machine and the panty portion being knitted by reciprocatory motion. Knitting of the panty portion included inactivation of a number of needles, knitting a first part of constant width formed by partial courses defining selvedge edges at their ends, knitting a central part by firstly narrowing and widening like a heel and then newly narrowing and widening, and knitting a second part of constant width formed by partial courses defining selvedge edges at their ends. The fabric is then cut to define the waist opening and the two parts of constant width are sewn together along the corresponding selvedge edges.

  • Patent number: 4057880
Abstract: The snag resistant leg portion of this hosiery article is knit of a composite self-crimping yarn including a series of mechanical crimps imparted thereto prior to knitting, and a series of crimps imparted to the composite yarn by development of the latent crimp in the composite yarn after knitting. The hosiery article knit of the composite self-comprising yarn having both types of crimp therein has much greater snag or pick resistance than either a hosiery article knit of the same type of composite yarn but including only the crimps imparted by development of the latent crimp in the yarn, or a hosiery article knit of yarn having mechanical crimp only. The knitting of a mechanically crimped composite yarn also produces a normal size greige hosiery article blank which may be processed in the usual manner to produce the finished hosiery article.
