  • Patent number: 6401314
Abstract: For inserting a dividing cord loop into the opened shed warp on a sectional warping machine, a dividing device has at its disposal an introduction element (28) with a first, preferably movable guide arm (26) and a second, preferably stationary guide arm (27). The free ends (29, 31) of the two guide arms may preferably be led together in a pincer-like movement. The guide arms are preferably designed as tubes which in the led-together condition form a flow channel. With the help of an air conveyor (35), from a bobbin chamber (28) a dividing cord may be drawn off and as a loop be layed around a divided shed warp lying between the two guide arms and by way of a knotting means be connected to a cord loop. The connected cord loop is thereafter by way of a suction device or a blower device positioned and tensioned in a manner such that the cord loop bears at least on one side on the divided shed warp or on the warp web.

  • Patent number: 6249939
Abstract: Method for warping with a cone sectional warping machine, which winds threads in bands on a warping drum, wherein a support for a thread guide comb and the warping drum are displaced in relation to each other in correspondence with the increasing thickness of winding and predetermined warping data. The first band is monitored during a first measuring phase by a roll exerting contact pressure and the monitored displacement path is recorded as a function of the number of rotations of the warping drum. Roll pressure on the winding during the measuring phase is continuously monitored using measuring techniques. Displacement of the support is corrected if monitoring results differ from a predetermined setpoint. In order to even out the formation of the wind, the roll is arranged at a given distance from the warping drum when warping of the first band is started. The monitoring of the roll is automatically started with increasing thickness of the winding as soon as the winding causes the roll to rotate.

  • Patent number: 5956827
Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for the formation of yarn turns on a warper support. The yarn is loaded onto a support intended for a samples weaving loom, in a warper utilizing a suitably programmed thread-by-thread warping system. The apparatus includes a support for thread turns and a thread holding member with a thread-guide driven into continuous motion for drawing a thread along and forming the thread turns on the support. • Patent number: 5940945
Abstract: On a sectional warping machine, the dividing-shed formation for introducing a dividing element is controlled in such a way that at least one yarn sensor (18, 18') is introduced transversely to the running direction of the shed warp (11, 12) into the opened dividing shed (15). The yarn sensor generates a control signal on detecting an incorrectly arranged yarn (34) in the feed area. The yarn sensor is preferably introduced into the dividing shed (15) together with a motor-driven element transporter (13), wherein the drive of the element transporter can be switched off and/or reversed by the control signal.

  • Patent number: 5758395
Abstract: In a warping machine, once a temporary feed speed for a warping reed is set in synchronism with the speed of rotation of the warping drum, the winding thickness of the warp lap is detected several times and the feed speed is corrected depending on the number of revolutions of the warping drum and the winding thickness that results therefrom. The winding of the warp lap is then completed at the corrected feed speed. During a starting phase, a theoretically correct feed speed for at least the first revolution of the warping drum is derived from warp parameters, such as the total number of threads, the width of the warp and the yarn count. The winding thickness of the first warp section is continuously and contactlessly measured during a learning phase that follows the starting phase, or during the starting phase. For that purpose, a winding thickness measurement arrangement is held at a predetermined, substantially constant distance from the surface of the warp layer that has just been wound.

  • Patent number: 5603146
Abstract: In a process for the production of short warps, especially pattern weaves, an individual thread (1) of different or the same color is wound up on a wind surface (9,11) sequentially with turns lying next to each other in an individual layer. This layer corresponds to the warp length. A thread guide (4) is movable around the circumferential contour of a wind-up arrangement (2) in the wind plane. A forwarding arrangement further moves the side-by-side wound thread warp at each circuit of the thread guide (4) by an amount equivalent to the thread thickness. The first individual threads (1) are wound on a support surface (11) displaceable orthogonal to the wind plane (10). Each further individual thread (1) is wound onto the previously wound thread warp (18), having been displaced rearwardly by an amount at least equivalent to one thread thickness.

  • Patent number: 5590448
Abstract: An arrangement can produce short warps, in particular for woven patterns in which threads (1) of different colors are wound onto a winding arrangement in single layers next to each other and sequentially with respect to each other. The arrangement has positioned at one end face (8) of the winding arrangement a thread laying device (4), which rotates around the circumferential contour of the winding arrangement (2). At least one thread (1) is pulled from a spool (14) in a spool magazine (12) and laid off onto a feed arrangement (16) located on the circumference of the winding arrangement (2) in a winding plane. This feed arrangement transports the wound up thread sheet perpendicular to the winding plane by an amount corresponding to the wind growth. The thread sheet, obtained as an endless sheet band in the direction transverse to the winding direction, can be cut open after completion of the thread warp.

  • Patent number: 5410786
Abstract: Threads are warped with an axially moveable slide onto a drum having a cone, into a plurality of successive warp bands. The threads are warped for a first band based on a predetermined advancement schedule for the slide. The warping of the first band, after a predetermined initial phase, is performed by: (a) measuring an aspect parameter, signifying the form of the winding of the first band, (b) correcting the predetermined advancement schedule of the slide based on a comparison of the aspect parameter and a targeted parametric value to compose a corrected advancement schedule, and (c) storing a successive plurality of descriptive parameters signifying the evolving form of the winding of the band, when successive revolutions of the drum meet a predetermined drum schedule.

  • Patent number: 5206976
Abstract: With the automatic shedding mechanism according to this invention, the warping conditions are inputted by using the program setting unit 151. When it arrives at the predetermined position, the warping drum stops rotating. The closed reed 38 is operated to from lease, into which the lease rods 88 enter so as to maintain the lease and move upward to keep the lease. Next, the lease tape driving mechanism 94 is operated to have its movable unit 98 advance, so that the lease tapes T will be let off onto the warping drum 12 to the predetermined amount. Then the lease tapes go between the lease to maintain them. The above operation will be repeated for every band for the number of times according to the total number of the warping yarns and warping width. Therefore the shedding procedure will be continuously performed without cutting the warping yarns for each band. After the warping procedure, the lease cords are passed through the holes on the heddle hooks at the leading ends of the lease tapes.

Abstract: During warping, the threads removed from the bobbins of a warp creel are supplied by means of a respective adjustable and settable thread brake to a reed located on the warping carriage of the warping machine and from that location the threads are ordered or arranged in a warp section prior to winding onto the warping drum. During operation of the warping machine, all of the thread brakes can be simultaneously adjusted by a central brake adjusting device controlled by control signals of a processor which, prior to the start of warping, stores by means of an input station, the warp section tension to be kept constant during operation, apart from other data. In the processor, the set or reference value of the warp section is constantly compared with actual value signals fed into the processor by a tension measuring device. If there exists a set value-actual value difference, the central brake adjusting device is controlled in the sense of correcting the thread tension by means of the thread brakes.
