Patent number: 9683316Abstract: A warping system for reducing tension in a plurality of yarn ends wound by the warping system onto a beam. The warping system minimizes the number of contact points as yarn is pulled off of yarn packages in a creel and wound onto the beam. After exiting a tube, yarn passes over a roller and an expansion comb before being wound onto the beam. The yarn extends between the roller and the beam substantially in a yarn plane. The yarn can contact the warping system at only one contact point between the roller and the beam.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 2013Date of Patent: June 20, 2017Assignee: Columbia Insurance CompanyInventors: Mark Avery Honeycutt, Keith Goble

Patent number: 7086129Abstract: Wound warps are made by pulling a multiplicity of warp filaments off respective supplies and winding them around a warp beam by rotating the warp beam while pressing the filaments against the beam with a predetermined packing force by a packing roller. The packing roller is deflected outward from the beam by the filaments as same are wound on the beam, and an output is produced representing the rotation of the beam. Another output is derived from this outward deflection of the packing roller that represents the rectified length of the filaments wound on the beam. The outputs from a first wound warp are used as set points, and the outputs from a subsequent wound warp are used as actual values and compared to the set points. The force of the packing roller is varied such that the actual values of the subsequent wound warp are made generally equal to the set points.Type: GrantFiled: October 27, 2005Date of Patent: August 8, 2006Assignee: Moenus Textilmaschinen GmbHInventors: Heinz Kissels, Elmar Lennartz

Patent number: 6195856Abstract: Method for warping with a cone sectional warper that winds up the threads (10) in bands on a sectional warping drum (11), in which a support (12) for a thread guide comb is displaced parallel to the warping drum (11) by a forward feed drive, corresponding to the increasing thickness of the wind and predetermined warping data, with the first band being sensed during a measurement phase by a roll (15) under contact pressure and with the sensed displacement travel being recorded as a function of the number of rotations of the warping drum (11), and with the roll being drawn back and pressing on the wind lap after the measurement phase upon further winding in accordance with a mean value obtained during the measurement phase.Type: GrantFiled: May 4, 1999Date of Patent: March 6, 2001Assignee: Sucker-Muller-Hacoba GmbH & Co.Inventor: Hubert Kremer

Patent number: 4941241Abstract: The invention relates to a warp machine for warping and spooling warp threads, particularly elastic or viscous warp threads. The warp machine according to the present invention includes a warp beam or parallel warp beam for taking up the warp thread and which is mounted to be rotationally driven about a rotary axis and which consists of a cylindrical spool element preferably having two lateral, flange-like warp beam discs. In addition, the machine is equipped with a compression element which is preferably movably mounted in an essentially radial direction to the warp beam which engages between the warp beam discs, and which presses the warp thread against the spool element.Type: GrantFiled: October 7, 1988Date of Patent: July 17, 1990Assignee: Hans Affupper Textilmaschinenbau GmbHInventor: Hans Affupper

Patent number: 4850086Abstract: A warper for drawing textile strands from a creel and for winding the strands on a rotatable beam which forms part of the warper. During winding, the strands are pressed against the beam by a pair of parallel ironing rollers. Each ironing roller has a long section ruggedly supported at both ends by bearings and a short section having one end supported by one of the bearings and an unsupported opposite end. The ironing rollers may be adjusted axially to accommodate beams of different lengths. The ironing rollers axially overlap one another in all adjusted positions so as to insure that all threads on each beam are pressed by at least one roller.Type: GrantFiled: May 27, 1988Date of Patent: July 25, 1989Assignee: Reed-Chatwood, Inc.Inventor: Richard A. Patent number: 4506420Abstract: Holding frame for a package beam of a heavy winding machine, including a right side frame and a left side frame. Each of the side frames is formed of a pair of flat sheet steel plates, with tension resistant and compression resistant spacer members interposed between each pair of plates. Each pair of plates is bolted together with the spacer member therebetween. First carriers formed of steel penetrate the plates at connection locations and rigidly connect the side frames to each other. A beam receiving device is disposed at least at one of the side frames. A second carrier with a tubular shape penetrates the pair of plates of the at least one side frame at connection locations and supports the beam receiving device. Detachable force transmission devices are disposed between the plates and at least one of the carriers at least at one of the connection locations.Type: GrantFiled: December 10, 1982Date of Patent: March 26, 1985Assignee: W. Patent number: 4420861Abstract: In order to pivot lifting forks and press or contact roll arms, there is employed a single cylinder unit acting by means of a piston rod upon a crank arm of a shaft member. Rotation of this shaft member causes, by means of the press roll arms connected rigidly for rotation with such shaft member, pivoting of a press or contact roll. A lever which likewise is rigidly connected for rotation with the shaft member is hingedly connected with a pair of brackets at whose other end there is located a guide roller or roll which travels in a slotted guide of a guide lever carrying one of the lifting or lift forks for the lifting-in and lifting-out of the warp beam. The other lifting fork is carried by a second analogous guide lever. Both of the guide levers are operatively connected with a pivotal shaft.Type: GrantFiled: August 26, 1980Date of Patent: December 20, 1983Assignee: Maschinenfabrik Benninger AGInventor: Wilhelm Kofler

Patent number: 4409710Abstract: The centering and entrainment devices, by means of which the warp beam can be clamped or chucked, are axially slidably guided at side plates of the beam warping machine. With their outer ends they are hingedly connected at a respective lever. Both of the levers are pivotably mounted, by means of their one end about stationary pivot pins, in a plane which contains both of these pivot points as well as the axis of the warp beam. At their opposite ends both of the levers are interconnected by a rod arrangement, wherein a threaded sleeve having two opposite internal threads and rotatably mounted in one side plate allows changes in the length of such rod arrangement. Consequently, both of the levers can be synchronously and axially symmetrically moved towards and away from one another, so that the coaxially guided centering and entrainment devices can be symmetrically advanced towards and displaced out of the warp beam.Type: GrantFiled: August 26, 1980Date of Patent: October 18, 1983Assignee: Maschinenfabrik Benninger AGInventor: Wilhelm Kofler
