Abstract: Linerless labels are presented. A label includes a specific pattern or set of patterns of adhesive applied to one side of the label. The adhesive pattern(s) reduces contact between a cutter blade of a printer and the adhesive on the one side of the label. Moreover, the adhesive patterns reduce buildup of adhesive on the cutter blade and reduce buildup at specific locations on the cutter blade. That is, the adhesive patterns more evenly distribute adhesive buildup across the cutter blade. Consequently, the cutter blade can be used for a longer period of time before the cutter blade needs to be cleaned of the adhesive.

Abstract: A universal security label for an electronic device comprising an integral camera lens. The label includes a plastic film security label body, the security label body comprising a plurality of layers, a top surface and an adhesive base, the security label body having a width and a length, the length substantially greater than the width and sufficient to wrap and adhere the label body completely around a portion of the electronic device and over the camera lens, the adhesive base of an overlapping end of the label body configured to adhere to the top surface of another portion of the label body, the layers having tamper-evident feature such that once the adhesive base is adhered to the top surface, subsequent removal provides an indication of its removal through the top surface of the overlapping end.

Abstract: Embodiments of a store label booklet include a plurality of sheets stacked one on top of the other and connected to a binding that spans an entire thickness of the booklet, each sheet including a planar array of store labels. No release coating is used. When each store label or row is removed from the book, a liner strip remains connected to the binder and a portion of the adhesive lying opposite the liner strip is exposed for application of the label to a retail shelf edge. Each store label may differ in orientation, size, or style and may contain different product information. Location information may be located on a binding of the booklet, on the label, or on both the binding and the label. The store labels may be printed in a predetermined order.

Abstract: Systems and methods which facilitate fixed rate shipping through the use of perpetual value bearing shipping labels are disclosed. The substantially perpetual viability of the value borne by perpetual value bearing shipping labels herein provides a shelf life which exceeds a shipping rate change epoch. Perpetual value bearing shipping labels of embodiments, although providing valid viable postage for use in obtaining shipping services, are provided as fungible products and do not include delivery or date information as pre-produced and made available to shippers in advance of their shipping activity. An on-line fulfillment system may be provided in which shippers may select a desired number of perpetual value bearing shipping labels in one or more value bearing amount for purchase by and delivery to the shipper for later use. Perpetual value bearing shipping labels may also be made available to shippers is through point of sale acquisition.

Abstract: A label web including a substrate is provided. The label web includes a first label removably affixed to a first side of the substrate. The first label is fabricated from a first material. A second label is removably affixed to the first side of the substrate adjacent to the first label in a side-by-side relationship. The second label is fabricated from a second material which differs from the first material. The first labels may be utilized to print desired information thereon and the second labels may fabricated from a transparent, protective material coating which may positioned on the first labels to discourage damage to the first labels from exposure to water or handling when the first labels are affixed to corresponding products.

Abstract: In accordance some aspects of the present application, there is provided a label assembly, a release liner and methods of preparing label assemblies and release liners. In one aspect, a label assembly includes a top layer having a front side and a back side and an adhesive applied at the back side of the top layer. The label assembly also includes a silicone-treated liner contacting the adhesive to sandwich the adhesive between the top layer and the liner. The silicone-treated liner comprises paper that does not have a machine finish or gloss finish on a side of the paper that contacts the adhesive to allow at least a portion of the silicone in the silicone treatment to penetrate the paper.

Abstract: A cutting apparatus includes a crop mark print controller and a front/back determiner. The crop mark print controller prints a first crop mark on a front side of a medium and then print a second crop mark over the first crop mark. The second crop mark is larger in size than the first crop mark. The front/back determiner determines that the medium is placed, with its front side facing upward, when only the second crop mark is detected by a crop mark detector, and determine that the medium is placed, with its back side facing upward, when a pattern including the first crop mark and the second crop mark overlapping one another is detected by the crop mark detector.

Abstract: A system and method for managing medication orders, including verbal orders and changes to those orders, is described. A server receives mediation orders from a pharmacy and communicates those orders to an infusion pump. The infusion pump communicates status messages to the server and the server compares the status messages to the medication orders to determine if the there were any changes to the order, or if a medication was administered absent a medication order. The server assigns a new order identification number to the status message if needed. The system may also reconcile original medication orders with information associated with a new order identification number and stores the information in the eMAR of a patient.

The label is printed label with a pre-determined color among various colors such that the characters and images resist subsequent erasure due to friction or chemical materials, etc. A laser beam is projected onto a surface of the barcode. A loss layer is used to form an image in response to the projection of the laser beam. A loss sheet includes a transparent sheet that is placed on the loss layer. A dark sheet is attached at the lower part of the loss sheet, and includes a color ink layer that expresses a pre-determined color among various colors and is attached to the upper part of the loss layer. The color ink layer which has the pre-determined color among the various colors is furnished at the upper part of the transparent sheet.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a multilayer information page (1) for a security document, which includes an information part (3) manufactured from a material allowing at least some identification information of the information page to be entered thereto by utilizing laser engraving, the identification information provided on the information page (1) being readable from an upper surface thereof, and a flexible and bending resistant connecting part (2) for connecting the information page (1) to the security document, the connecting part (2) comprising a fastening end (8) by means of which the connecting part (2) is fastened to the information part (3). In order to ensure that detachment of the information part and the connecting part from one another leaves visible marks, the fastening end (3) of the connecting part (2) is arranged to overlap with a lower surface of the information part (3).

Abstract: An inside leaflet of a book is provided which is bond-bound with pages of the book to provide an advertisement. The inside leaflet includes an advertisement printed part and a binding part. Catchphrases or illustrations for advertisement are printed on at least one side of the advertisement printed part. The binding part is configured to be bound with the pages along an edge of the inside leaflet such that the binding part has less binding portions than those of the pages in order to leave no traces or marks when the inside leaflet is detached from the book. Accordingly, since the inside leaflet is able to be bound to pages of various kinds of books and easily removed from the books without leaving any traces or marks in the books, the inside leaflet contributes to extension of the application range of advertisements and improvement of advertisement efficiency.

Abstract: A response form security device is provided for use with a generally planar response form having an answer area bearing answer blanks upon which a respondent makes marks to indicate a plurality of responses. The security device includes a sleeve adapted and constructed to slidably receive and cover the response form. An access window is formed in the sleeve, and permits visual access by the respondent to a number of fewer than all of the answer areas of the response form. The length of the sleeve and the configuration of the answer window are chosen so as to prevent anyone other than the user from seeing a number of marks on the answer area sufficient to observe a repeatable pattern of marks.

Abstract: A method for producing a continuous web of printed material for use in creating mailpieces. The continuous web has a width and a length, the length comprised of a series of attached sheets. The series of attached sheets are comprising envelope sheets and rectangular content pages. The content pages are rectangular in shape and may be oriented relative to the envelope sheets in a number of different configurations. In some configurations, two sets of content pages and/or envelope sheets can be printed across the width of the web. Sheets for forming business return envelopes may be printed in series with the content pages and envelope sheets. BREs may include individualized return addresses. A control code may be printed on one or more of the sheets for a given mailpiece, providing information for controlling assembly of the mailpiece.

Abstract: A tactile orientation indicator is positioned along the periphery of a bill, and a tactile denomination indicator is positioned elsewhere along the periphery of the bill. The user of the bill may then use their tactile senses to feel along the edges of the bill to orient the bill to a pre-determined orientation based on the location of the orientation indicator. The user then feels along the periphery of the bill to locate the denomination indicator. Using a predetermined system associating the location of the denomination indicator with a particular bill denomination, the user may then identify the denomination of the bill even if blind or otherwise visually impaired.

Abstract: An ultra removable booklet with label for application to media is described. The booklet with label includes a release liner, an ultra removable adhesive layer, a paper stock layer, a booklet, an adhesive layer, and a clear plastic cover layer. The clear plastic cover layer has the adhesive layer applied to a bottom surface thereof and the bottom surface is positioned over the booklet. The booklet is positioned over the paper stock. The ultra removable adhesive layer is attached to the lower surface of the paper stock. The release liner is applied to the ultra removable adhesive layer. A process for forming an ultra removable booklet with label for application to media is also described.

The counterfeit preventive paper and counterfeit preventive printed material have a structure in which a thread having metal deposition layers formed in a pattern of micro-character and colored printed layers formed thereon provided on both sides of a strip-like and light permeable substrate is inserted between paper layers.

The luminous advertisement sheet includes a light-transmitting print sheet having an EL advertisement region formed in at least one area of the print sheet, and a general advertisement region formed in the other area thereof. The EL advertisement region has at least one of a fixed pattern portion in which a transparent electrode layer, an EL layer and a dielectric layer are sequentially laminated and a variable pattern portion in which a transparent electrode layer, an EL layer, a dielectric layer and a plurality of pixel electrode layers are sequentially laminated. The luminous advertisement sheet further includes a pattern electrode layer laminated and printed with a conductive ink material to have a predetermined luminous pattern in at least one area of the dielectric layer laminated in the fixed pattern portion and/or the variable pattern portion.

In another version, a lottery ticket can be combined with a payment card that operates as a closed payment system whereby the payment card can only be used with a specified vendor.

Abstract: A device and method for allowing secure self-capture of multifold fingerprint impressions. The device includes a strip of fingerprint labels wrapped about a tubular ergonomic roller. A subject inserts the thumb of a first hand into the ergonomic roller and grips the roller between his thumb and forefinger. The subject then rolls the inked tip of a finger on his second hand across a label in a first rotational direction while rotating the ergonomic roller in an opposite rotational direction. To prevent fraudulent substitution of fingerprinting materials that are distributed to a subject, the materials are marked with machine readable invisible barcodes that are associated with a unique identification number. After a subject captures his fingerprints and submits his materials to a trusted observer, the barcodes on the materials are compared to the identification number to determine whether the materials submitted are in-fact those that were distributed to the subject.

Abstract: A business form includes a paper carrier sheet having an upper surface and a lower surface, a barrier layer on an area of the upper surface of the paper carrier sheet, a silicone coating extending over the barrier layer, and a label assembly. The label assembly includes a label ply and a pressure sensitive adhesive coating. The label assembly is secured to the silicone coating and to the upper surface of the carrier sheet by the pressure sensitive adhesive. The label ply has a die cut through it that defines a label portion and a lip portion. The label portion is secured only to the silicone coating, and the lip portion is secured to both the silicone coating and to the upper surface of the carrier sheet. When the business form is printed with a printer, such as a laser printer, the form moves through the printer in an orientation in which the lip portion leads the label assembly. This results in the label portion being less likely to be removed from the carrier sheet inadvertently.

The pattern of different conductive and substantially non-conductive regions can be used as a security pattern of authenticity that cannot be replicated by standard office equipment, and/or can be used to encrypt information in binary code form in the item. Abstract: A kit is provided that assists a customer to produce a pocket-sized, disposable photo album. The kit generally has some paper that has been perforated and scored into a grid of wallet-sized rectangles, some adhesives, and instructions for use. A customer prints wallet-sized photos onto the paper within the wallet-sized rectangles. The customer then tears along the perforation lines to create strips of rectangles, and tapes the strips together end-to-end. Lastly, the customer folds the rectangles along the score lines in an accordion-like fashion to create an expandable album that is easily shared. The resulting “album” can be carried in most any pocket and displayed at a moment's notice. This type of album is particularly useful to people who carry wallets instead of purses, but would otherwise like to share photos.

Abstract: An assembly for mailing an article requiring special services and a method for mailing same are provided. The assembly includes a return postcard, two anchor portions disposed on either side of the postcard, printer track strips having a plurality of holes for engaging a printer, such as a dot matrix printer, and a hole capable of being sensed by another type of printer, such as a thermal printer. The indicia printed upon the mailing assembly including the designator indicating the special service required, are printed using a single color thereby simplifying the printing process. The return postcard is removably attached to anchor portions such that the return postcard remains attached to the envelope until received by the addressee, at which time the return postcard may be removed from the anchor portions. The assembly is designed to incorporate a form into the return postcard to simplify preparation of the mailpiece for delivery by the special service.

Abstract: An easy care handbook constituted by a bound booklet containing recording pages and private information pages can be prepared by a simple method. The recording pages of the bound booklet are common for all users so that the bound booklet can be made in volume at a low price. The private pages are formed by a printable sheet having a printable side, an adhesive layer on the other side, and a detachable sheet removably attached onto the adhesive layer. Private information from a database can be printed by a printer onto the printable side prior to incorporating the printable sheet into the booklet. The detachable sheet is removed from the preprinted printable sheet and the adhesive layer is attached onto the recording page to form the private information pages.

Abstract: A dual sided integral composite image product and method of make same. The image product includes a first support substrate having a separate image layer thereon and a second support substrate having separate image layer thereon. The second support substrate being secured to the first support substrate so as to form the dual sided integral composite image product. A fold line is provided on said image product about which the integral composite image product may be folded.

Abstract: A label structure and method, with the label structure including a base panel for affixing to a surface and having a back face having an adhesive applied thereon. A first leaflet is positioned adjacent to a front face of the base panel. The first leaflet comprises a first folded panel having a first fold extending substantially parallel to a first axis of the label structure. A second leaflet is positioned forward of the first leaflet such that the first leaflet is positioned substantially between the second leaflet and the base panel with the second leaflet being stacked on the first leaflet. The second leaflet comprises a second folded panel having a second fold extending substantially parallel to the first axis of the label structure. A laminating layer overlies the base panel, the first leaflet, and the second leaflet.
