Magnet Patents (Class 281/DIG1)
  • Patent number: 5842721
Abstract: A paper sheet holder is provided and includes a base plate (1), a paper sheet guiding plate (3) made of non-magnetic material, which is arcuate as viewed in a top plan (upper direction), a permanent magnet (4) fixed at a convex side surface of the paper sheet guiding plate, and a movable permanent magnet (5) movably and magnetically attracted by the curved outer wall surface at the concave surface of the paper sheet guiding plate. The guiding plate is fixed in a slanted orientation above the base plate. A paper sheet holder includes a base plate (25), a paper sheet guiding plate (26) made of non-magnetic material, a plurality of permanent magnets (27) embedded in the paper sheet guiding plate while being spaced apart by a predetermined distance in a horizontal direction, and a plurality of movable permanent magnets (30) spaced apart by a predetermined distance in a horizontal direction.

  • Patent number: 5709409
Abstract: This disclosure is directed to a spiral bound book having a permanent magnet incorporated in one of the covers and a complementary weight or magnet incorporated in the opposite cover. The arrangement is such that the spiral bound book is rendered readily displayable or used by magnetic attraction to a magnetically attractive surface whereby the weight or magnet in the opposite cover will cause the book to be displayed in an open position. The individual pages may also incorporate a permanent magnet whereby the respective pages can be maintained or disposed in any selectable open position.

  • Patent number: 5702126
Abstract: This disclosure is directed to a miniature book construction in which one of the book covers includes a permanent magnet whereby the book can be readily affixed to a magnetically attractive surface. The book construction includes a cover jacket formed of a foldable material in which the magnet forming an end cover is adhesively secured to the cover jacket opposite a rigid blank defining the other cover, the ends of the jacket being reversely folded over the ends of the respective covers, with the bound pages of the book secured between the opposed covers by adhesively securing the opposed end most pages to the inside of the adjacent covers. Alternate embodiments may include utilizing a permanent magnet in each of the respective covers whereby the poles of the magnet may be positioned to either attract or repel so that the book may be maintained in a normally closed or open position depending upon the relationship of the poles of the respective magnets included in the book covers.

  • Patent number: 5627562
Abstract: Apparatus for magnetically erasing and writing data stored in human readable displays of product label. The product label includes a display area with magnetic particles which can be oriented by external magnetic field in shapes including human readable figures and symbols. The so oriented magnetic particles retain their position when the external field ie removed, thereby storing the recorded information in the form of the figures and symbols. A portable apparatus includes electrically controllable write magnets for writing the figures and symbols, and an electrically controllable erase magnet for erasing previously recorded figures and symbols. The controllable magnets are mounted in a write/erase head which is self-adapting to the surface of the label.

  • Patent number: 5575503
Abstract: A filing tool (1) for filing one or more sheets 6 provided with a magnetically attractable area (7) on a side end or periphery of the sheet is composed of a two-folded cover member (2) having a back (2a), an electromagnet (3) situated along the back (2a), an and an ON-OFF switch (5) for changing "ON" to "OFF" or "OFF" to "ON" for flowing a current to the electromagnet (3). Thereby, the sheet can be readily attracted by the cover member and can be readily detached therefrom by operating the ON-OFF switch. Further, even an intermediate sheet can be easily picked up.

  • Patent number: 4137863
Abstract: A reading instrument for magnifying certain chosen printed material on a page or sheet of paper and for visually isolating the chosen material from other, adjacent printed material, the instrument including an opaque plate that is provided with a slot, an elongated magnifying lens attached to the plate in alignment with the slot, a permanent magnet spaced from the lens and attached to the plate and a flat lamina of a ferrous material that is positioned under the printed page so as to inhibit the plate from sliding along or falling off of the page due to its magnetic attraction to the lamina.
