  • Patent number: 5836622
Abstract: A form for creating a postcard having printing on both sides includes a front sheet and a back sheet, which are laminated using a pressure sensitive adhesive on a back surface of the front sheet. A fold line extends across the front sheet, while a tear line underlying the fold line extends across the back sheet. A gap in the adhesive preferably extends along the fold line. On one side of the fold line opposite to the direction of the gap, the inner surface of the back sheet has a release coating restricting the adhesion of the adhesive layer. After printing on the front surface of the front sheet, the section of the back sheet having this release coating is removed and discarded, and the front sheet is folded along the fold line, thereby providing a document having printing on both sides and a thickness sufficient for a postcard.

  • Patent number: 5779612
Abstract: A method of writing a bank draft using an electronic printer and placing the bank draft in an envelope is accomplished by providing a single sheet of paper. The sheet of paper is completely opaque and sized to be received within the electronic printer. The paper sheet has a front surface and a back surface and a perimeter which is defined by opposite side and end edges. A line of perforations extend between the opposite side edges and divide the paper sheet into an envelope portion and a bank draft portion. The paper sheet is fed into the electronic printer where recipient indicia is printed on the envelope portion and bank draft indicia is printed on the bank draft portion. The paper sheet is then discharged from the electronic printer and folded so that the envelope portion forms an envelope for the bank draft.

  • Patent number: 5472240
Abstract: A pop-up mailer is constructed from a single sheet of 81/2.times.11 or A4 paper having a weight of at least 20 pounds per 1000 sheet ream, using a non-impact printer. The adhesive for holding panels of the sheet together after they are folded about a fold line is preferably a pressure sensitive non-tacky adhesive (pressure coadhesive). At least two pop-ups are die cut from the sheet of paper on opposite sides of a fold line, and pressure coadhesive is used to hold the pop-ups together so that when the mailer is opened a pop-up appears. Adhesive may be applied around the die cut edges to assist in maintaining the pop-ups within the plane defined by the paper during processing. After die cutting, imaging, applying coadhesive, etc., the sheet is folded about a first fold line and passed through a pressure sealer, and then folded about a second fold line transverse to the first fold line and again passed through a pressure sealer, to produce a final mailer to which postage is applied directly.

  • Patent number: 5454599
Abstract: The score card has a front surface displaying a series of numbers arranged from a base line L into rows and columns. The numbers are derived from multiplying a known number F by a series of integers 1, 2, 3, 4 . . . N. Each number, when selected by the user, provides a running score. The score card is illustrated for use with an automatic teller machine ("ATM") which is controlled by an ATM card. The numbers on the surface of the score card are multiples of the base dollar amount dispensed by the ATM. The method of using the score card involves selecting a first score A.sub.1 =N.sub.1 xF by counting N.sub.1 rows from the base line L, wherein N.sub.1 is a first known multiplying integer, selecting a second score A.sub.2 =(N.sub.1 +N.sub.2)F by counting N.sub.2 rows from A.sub.1, wherein N.sub.2 is a second known multiplying integer, and finally selecting a third score A.sub.3 =(N.sub.1 +N.sub.2 +N.sub.3)F by counting N.sub.3 rows from A.sub.2, where N.sub.3 is a third known multiplying integer, and so on.

Abstract: A stationery sheet having labels removably attached thereto by pressure-sensitive adhesive. The sheet may be sent through a laser printer or other printing equipment for the purpose of printing indicia on the sheet and the label. After the sheet exits the printer, the labels may be peeled off the sheet and attached to a letter or some other document. A release coating may be applied to the sheet at the areas where the labels are attached to facilitate peeling the labels from the sheet. A high temperature, stable, pressure-sensitive adhesive is used to facilitate passing the sheet through high temperature printers.
