Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods for redelivering packages to customers, comprising a memory storing instructions and a processor configured to execute the instructions to receive, from a first user device, a notification of a delivery failure of a package, modify a database to assign the notification of the delivery failure and a cause for the delivery failure to the package identifier, modify the database to assign the package identifier to a group, among a plurality of groups, based on a delivery address associated with the package identifier, generate a map of the plurality of groups, and send the map for display on the user device. The map may comprise an activatable icon, and a location of the activatable icon on the map may be associated with the delivery address associated with the package identifier.

Abstract: An adhesive-backed label having a plurality of adhesive-backed label portions, each of the adhesive-backed label portions comprising an instance of an identifying indicia, whereby one or more of the plurality of adhesive-backed label portions is applied to at least one collected sample so that the identifying indicia on the adhesive-backed label portion on the collected sample corresponds to the identifying indicia on at least one of the adhesive-backed label portions that remains on the adhesive-backed label, at least one of the adhesive-backed label portions on the adhesive-backed label also comprising a field configured to receive additional identifying indicia.

Abstract: There is disclosed an electronic article surveillance label and a cover label for an electronic article surveillance label for small high value hard goods such as, but no limited to, cosmetics, perfumes, medication, health-care items, DIY accessories and the like. The electronic article surveillance label and cover label include a flexible support having a bottom section with a soft glue area and a top section with a strong glue area.

Abstract: A print medium, on which individual labeling information made up of one or more labeling elements that are selectively shown, of common labeling information made up of a plurality of labeling elements, is formed by a printing device, wherein the common labeling information is printed in advance and a background color of an area where at least a plurality of labeling elements is printed is a print color that is printable by the printing device, is disclosed.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for producing a foil slitting cut in a foil of a foiled metal sheet. A foil slitting tool is moved along a predetermined path with a tool tip resting on the metal sheet and thereby mechanically produces the foil slitting cut by displacing foil material along the path. The foil slitting cut has at least one acute-angled tooth for forming at least one foil corner detached from the metal sheet.

Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for tracking and verifying the authenticity of items. Public and private unique identifiers are generated for an item, and an identifier label is printed and affixed to the item. The public identifier is visible, but the private identifier is not visible unless a tamper-evident action is performed. Events involving scans of the public identifier are recorded. The private identifier is scanned by a client, and in response, authenticity information for the item is sent to the client. The authenticity information is determined based at least in part on the events relative to the public identifier.

Abstract: A method of labeling a package for shipment includes: providing a shipping label having a generally laminar body with a designated tear path matrix extending over at least a major portion thereof, the generally laminar body having a face side on which is printed origination, destination and tracking data, and a bottom side to which is applied a pressure-sensitive adhesive surface; and attaching the shipping label to a surface of the package, via the pressure-sensitive adhesive surface on the bottom side of said label, prior to its shipment via a common carrier. The designated tear path matrix may be a pattern of interconnected regular hexagons, or a pattern of intersecting first and second parallel tear lines. The tear path matrix may be formed by through-hole perforations in the label body, by channels in the label body, or by regions of reduced shear strength in the label body.

Abstract: Systems and methods for creating and delivering banner strip messaging in print format along a shelf edge in a retails establishment are disclosed. A process for creating and delivering banner strip messaging in print format includes the steps of: (1) receiving message content data and planogram data for a plurality of products from an input device, wherein the message content data includes price data and advertising data; (2) storing the message content data and the planogram data in a database; (3) aligning the message content data and the planogram data for each of the plurality of products; (4) creating a display template based on the aligned message content data and the planogram data; and (5) sending the display template to an output device, wherein the output device produces an output display.

Abstract: A multiple-ply label roll includes end-to-end labels. Each label is operable to be adhesively applied to a substrate and includes top and bottom label plies. The bottom label ply includes an outer removable border portion defined between interior and outer ply edges and removable from the top label ply in a removal direction. The interior ply edge includes spaced apart side edges that extend along the removal direction to define a pair of spaced apart side sections of the removable portion. The interior ply edge includes a generally transverse end edge interconnecting the side edges to define an end section of the removable portion, with the end section extending between the side sections and being removed generally after the side sections when the removable portion is removed in the removal direction.

Abstract: A method for producing a continuous web of printed material for use in creating mailpieces. The continuous web has a width and a length, the length comprised of a series of attached sheets. The series of attached sheets are comprising envelope sheets and rectangular content pages. The content pages are rectangular in shape and may be oriented relative to the envelope sheets in a number of different configurations. In some configurations, two sets of content pages and/or envelope sheets can be printed across the width of the web. Sheets for forming business return envelopes may be printed in series with the content pages and envelope sheets. BREs may include individualized return addresses. A control code may be printed on one or more of the sheets for a given mailpiece, providing information for controlling assembly of the mailpiece.

Abstract: The invention provides a method and apparatus for applying shipping labels over both folded or non-folded packing slips, or the like, at a single print-and-apply station, either through use of a label configured for application to a substrate and also in a superposed registered manner to another label of identical construction previously attached to the substrate, or by using a shipping label having a non-aggressive adhesive applied to a removable center section of the shipping label for attachment of the packing list, or the like, to the shipping label prior to application of the shipping label to the substrate.

Abstract: A tactile orientation indicator is positioned along the periphery of a bill, and a tactile denomination indicator is positioned elsewhere along the periphery of the bill. The user of the bill may then use their tactile senses to feel along the edges of the bill to orient the bill to a pre-determined orientation based on the location of the orientation indicator. The user then feels along the periphery of the bill to locate the denomination indicator. Using a predetermined system associating the location of the denomination indicator with a particular bill denomination, the user may then identify the denomination of the bill even if blind or otherwise visually impaired.

Abstract: Image analysis techniques, including object recognition analysis, are applied to images obtained by one or more image capture devices deployed within inventory environments. The object recognition analysis provides object recognition data (that may include one or more recognized product instances) based on stored product (training) images. In turn, a variety of functionalities may be enabled based on the object recognition data. For example, a planogram may be extracted and compared to a target planogram, or at least one product display parameter for a product can be determined and used to assess presence of the product within the inventory environment, or to determine compliance of display of the product with a promotional objective. In yet another embodiment, comparisons may be made within a single image or between multiple images over time to detect potential conditions requiring response. In this manner, efficiency and effectiveness of many previously manually-implemented tasks may be improved.

Abstract: The present invention is called an investment card and its made from various materials and it serves as a voucher for an investment of choice including but not limited to stocks, bonds, gold, silver, platinum, insurance, CD's, or similar investment items that fluctuate in value. The cards are labeled with a value, with a title denoting what the card is redeemable, the name of the company it can be used with, a legal disclaimer, a dividend amount per share for stocks, any applicable expiration date and the brokering firm or company or entity that is putting the card out for purchase. The cards are redeemable at the varying brokering websites.

The information page includes: an information part (3), and an attachment part (2) for attaching the information part to the security document. In order to make forgery visually detectable, the information part (3) is provided with a unique identifier (5), and the attachment part (2, 2?) is provided with the same unique identifier (5) as the information part (3).

Abstract: In apparatus for and a method of inserting a series of contents (1) into a series of containers (3), identifying magnetic indicia are printed on each one of the series of contents before insertion in the containers. After insertion and sealing of the containers the contents cannot be visually inspected without breaking the seals. The indicia are magnetically read by a reader (7) through the material of the sealed containers (3) and visible indicia corresponding to the identifying magnetic indicator retrieved from store (6), and applied to the exterior of the containers by a printer (5). The apparatus and method are applicable to automatic mailing systems where it is necessary to ensure that the correct addresses corresponding to a previously inserted series of letters in a series of respective envelopes are printed later on the exteriors of the envelopes. Instead of magnetically based systems, infra-red radio isotope or radio frequency identification based systems may also be used.

Abstract: The present invention provides a packaging material comprising a plurality of layers, said material having discernible indicia for authentication characterized by the presence of at least one predetermined anti-counterfeit feature at, at least one predetermined location in at least one predetermined visible layer. Also, provided in accordance with the present invention is a process for manufacturing said packaging material.

Abstract: A trailer includes reference marks that depict the position whereby cargo may be placed for proper installation on the trailer. The reference marks may be applied by affixing a label onto the frame of the trailer respective of the trailer axle. One or more reference marks may be applied depicting the multiple positions, one for each of differently sized cargo, which may be welding power supplies. Instructions may also be used in conjunction with the labels for instructing placement of the welding power supply at the appropriate position respective of the trailer axle.

The sheet includes a first inner portion containing shipping slip information arranged on a first side of the sheet to face the package. Abstract: A jewelry tag substrate comprises a liner, an adhesive and a clear face stock. The clear face stock has a print side and an adhesive side. The liner is disposed proximate said adhesive side so as to support the face stock. An adhesive is disposed between the liner and the face stock. The liner and the adhesive are adapted so that when portions of the face stock are separated from the liner, the adhesive adheres to the adhesive side. Labels and corresponding shanks are defined by the face stock so that the shanks extend from the labels. A top coat is applied to the print side so that the shanks are substantially clear.

Abstract: A pre-printed case label is provided for labeling cases that contain item-level packages such as clamshells of produce or loose bulk produce. The pre-printed case label includes a common identifier and space for adding a tag that includes a unique identifier. A case that includes the pre-printed case label and the tag provides case-level traceability through the distribution chain. Additionally, the item-level packages, or items of loose bulk produce, can include their own individual traceability codes to extend the traceability down to the item level. Methods provided herein associate non-lot-specific information, like brand and quantity, and lot-specific information, like harvest event data, with the unique identifier.

Abstract: A linerless duplex label system is operable to print and apply a linerless duplex label to a substrate. A plurality of linerless duplex labels are provided and each label includes a single-ply stock with top and bottom faces. The label also includes an endless adhesive border applied to the bottom face. The label is configured so that multiple labels can be removably adhered to each other by the adhesive border, with at least one linerless duplex label being removably overlaid onto at least one other duplex label.

Abstract: The prevention of counterfeiting labels for various products is addressed by introducing counterfeit proof labels having an optically concealed, invisible progressive shifting security safety symbols for quick identification. The label is printed on a high-resolution micro-optic photo chromogenic material. A multiple number of images of an optically compressed security safety symbol are printed on the focal plane along the linear optical center of each micro-lenticule across the entire area or a small portion of the label. Due to the optical effect of the micro-optic, the complete security safety symbol is not clearly visible at normal viewing distance.

Abstract: Apparatus and related methods align magnetic flakes in a carrier, such as an ink vehicle or a paint vehicle to create optically variable images in a high-speed, linear printing operation. Images can provide security features on high-value documents, such as bank notes. Magnetic flakes in the ink are aligned using magnets in a linear printing operation. Selected orientation of the magnetic pigment flakes can achieve a variety of illusive optical effects that are useful for decorative or security applications.

In addition, the form may receive various types of electronic postage accessed via the internet, for example. After mailing information is printed on the form, the section may be removed and secured to a mailpiece.

Abstract: A mailing assembly for use in connection with non-domestic delivery of a mailpiece wherein the sender of the mailpiece is required to complete a sender's declaration. The assembly includes a mailing form that may be sub-divided into customs declarations forms, a dispatch notice and a backing sheet. The backing sheet may be peeled off the mailing form exposing adhesive on the backing sheet. The backing sheet may be folded in such a way as to provide an envelope to adhere to the mailpiece to be non-domestically delivered. The customs declarations forms and, dispatch notice may then be inserted into the envelope whereupon the mailpiece may be non-domestically delivered. The customs declaration forms and dispatch notice of the mailing form may be variably printed with information to aid in the non-domestic delivery of the mailpiece.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to the manufacture of lites (glass sheets) which have at least a pair of thin spacers applied thereto which maintain the lites in spaced relationship when stacked upon pallets, wrapped and shipped. The spacers are preferably only partially adhered to the lites, either by weak bonding adhesive or electrostatically, and can be readily removed during end-use applications. The spacers are applied automatically during production runs of the lites, and the spacers are applied from above or from below relative to the path of travel of the lites.

Abstract: A container having an outer removable overlying label which covers an underlying permanently affixed label. The outer label is at least partially translucent, or preferably transparent. Use of a removable outer label permits the consumer to remove some or all of the verbiage which is important for the label, but which need not be present on the container in use in the consumer's home. The label construction includes a label face stock, an opaque liner ply, the first face of the liner ply having an adhesive release coating portion and a release coating free portion. A line of weakness is disposed in the liner ply separating it into a first portion having the release coating for being readily removed to expose adhesive on a portion of the face stock, and a second release coating free portion. That exposed adhesive is pressed into contact with a surface of a point of purchase display so that the point of purchase indicia is readily visible. The second portion of the liner ply may have point of purchase indicia so that it can be bent to define a point of purchase flag.

The invention also refers to a machine to automatically apply the seal (10) which fundamentally includes a loader (17) containing a pile of seals, which are picked up one at a time from the underside, a cursor (19) which handles the seals to be applied, a tool (21) to fold the tab (11) and a seal applicator head (18) for ultrasonic welding, gluing or similar.

Abstract: A device, system, and method for labeling three-dimensional objects. A sheet comprising at least one tag, each tag consisting of a thin piece of resilient, print-treated polyester, or other material, and a method of attaching the tag to a three-dimensional object, such as a glass or plastic vial, is described. The tag identifies each individual object, and permits transfer of the object throughout a series of analytical processes without losing object identity. The tag is marked by offset printing, laser engraving, or another marking process such that the marking does not become unreadable during handling and testing. Labeling of individual objects is accomplished by inserting an object through an aperture in the tag resulting in the tag being attached to the vial. Removal of the vial from the sheet causes the tag to be separated from the sheet and to remain attached to the vial. Alternatively, a sheet holder, such as a rack, could be used to hold the sheet of tags during the labeling process.

Abstract: Forms, such as mailing forms, constructed as a single sheet or multiple sheets of standard paper size, which are printable by a single pass through a standard non-impact printer are described. Certain variations of the forms can be configured to be extendible to provide additional surface area for the form exceeding standard paper size. The extendible form can be adapted for use with mailing forms such as multi-part collated unit sets. The forms can be useful for providing a Customs Declaration and Dispatch Note having each part thereof printable by a single pass through a non-impact printer.

Abstract: A multi-grit manual finishing tool and method for making the tool. In a preferred embodiment, the tool comprises an ordered, linear sequence of pieces of coated abrasive connected by fully pliable hinges. The hinges allow virtually 360° rotation of the planes of adjacent pieces about each other, and permit the tool to accordion-fold together tightly, so that the tool becomes very compact for storage, transit and special uses. The grit sizes progressively increase from one abrasive piece to the next, thereby facilitating a choice of grit sizes within a single tool. On the non-grit surface of each piece is a distinctive labeling addition that includes indicia characterizing the grit size and abrasive nature of its corresponding grit surface. The distinctive labeling addition includes mechanical reinforcement, such as plastic, thin metal or cardboard. Each piece may abrade a work piece individually and without necessarily using any tool other than hand or fingers.

Abstract: A template sheet forming postal meter labels or combination postal meter/address labels are described upon which postal indicia can be printed, by a non-impact printer, less than one-quarter inch from the edge of the label. The sheet includes a plurality of removably affixed meter tape or meter tape/address labels positioned in an off-set configuration on one face of a laminated sheet. The combination meter tape/address labels are self-aligning for conforming to United States Postal Service IBIP specifications.

Abstract: A hang tab that is used to suspend an article and display a removable coupon is provided in the form of a uniformly thin flat sheet of synthetic resin material having a coupon section integrally formed with the flat sheet with tearable perforated portions and cut portions around the perimeter of the coupon portion. The coupon portion is easily removable from the hang tab. A separate bonding section having an adhesive layer is provided adjacent the coupon portion and a hole for hanging is provided remote from the bonding section. The adhesive layer adheres to the product to be suspended using the hole. A consumer may remove the coupon from the coupon portion after purchase of the product.

Abstract: A combination shipping label and packing slip/label form which comprises a first ply having a top surface and a bottom surface, and a second release liner ply detachably secured to the bottom surface of the first ply. The first ply comprises a detachable shipping label and a corresponding packing slip. The packing slip is detachably secured to the combination shipping label and packing slip form by a substantial die cut through the first ply and the second release liner ply. The packing slip comprises a border section and a bill of materials section separated by a perforation that perforates the first ply and the second release liner ply. The bottom surface of the border section is coated with an adhesive.

Abstract: A business form is provided which is particularly useful in shipping products where certain preprinted information can be provided and then individualized information is printed before the form is applied to a substrate. The form includes a face ply which has a pattern of adhesive applied to at least a portion of the inner face, and a release liner which includes a pattern of adhesive which exposes a portion of the release liner to direct adhesive contact to the face ply without intervening release coating to permanently adhere a part of the release liner to the face ply. The release liner has a surrounding protective border provided with release coating on the release face thereof and which is removed prior to application to the substrate, and a slip which remains with the form as applied to the substrate. The face ply includes lines of perforation defining a central portion.
