  • Patent number: 11719370
Abstract: Method and apparatus for an improved camlock fitting having outer/inner cam lever which are restrained against unintended opening or rotation by a pivoting locking member which is pivotally mounted onto an axle disposed in a corresponding hole on the cam levers so that the pivoting locking member can be easily pivoted in the vertical plane relative to the cam arms. Each of the outer and inner arms has a pivoting locking member mounted on its underside in a protective housing. The camlock fitting may also have an air vent. Together this provides a safety lock assembly for the cam lock fitting so that when the cam lock fitting is pressurized unbeknownst to the operator and the operator attempts to open the cam lock fitting, the safety lock assembly will prevent operation or complete separation of the male and the female portions of the fitting to prevent inadvertent pressurized discharge of hazardous materials.

  • Patent number: 8888143
Abstract: Fluidic coupling assemblies include a fitting body having a single integral piece or separable pieces such as male and female fittings such as luer fittings. The assemblies further comprise a rotatable fastening assembly having a drive collar and a driven member, and at least one resilient member having a spring bias that defines a threshold torque of the rotatable fastening assembly. The spring bias may be directed axially or radially with respect to the longitudinal axis of the fluidic coupling assembly. The fluid sealing housing (11) encloses the annuli (17,18). The annuli (17,18) are restrained from longitudinal movement on one side by means of a tab (5) inserted in an aperture (7) located in the housing (11). When a pull-out force is applied to the pipe end (6 or 8), the housing (11) retrains each annulus (17,18) on one side, causing each annulus to tilt from a position substantially perpendicular to the housing. This tilt reduces the effective lateral cross-sectional area inside each annulus (17,18) resulting in the application of a compressive force to the associated pipe end (6) thereby holding the pipe end (6) within the housing. To subsequently remove the pipe end (6) from the housing (11) a force is applied to remove the tilt from the annuli (17, 18).

Abstract: A water pipe joint includes a main body, a control sleeve, and an elastic element. The main body is provided with a plurality of expansion holes and receiving slots. The elastic element is disposed in a receiving gap of the main body. The control sleeve is provided with a plurality of retaining blocks and resilient pieces. The control sleeve is joined with the main body such that the retaining blocks of the control sleeve are slidably received in the receiving slots of the main body, and such that the retaining blocks of the control sleeve are acted on by the elastic element and the resilient piece to extend out of the expansion holes of the main body, so as to be detachably engaged with a water discharging connector.

Abstract: A lantern having a compact configuration. The lantern has a generally cylindrical shape with a lower housing containing a fuel tank, a shut-off valve and a regulator. A cap at the base of the lower housing can be removed, providing access to the fuel tank. The fuel tank is refillable via a fuel fill valve arranged at the base of the tank. A burner tube is coupled to the regulator and extends upwards beyond the housing. A mantle, which when lit provides illumination, is removably coupled to the upper end of the burner tube. A generally conical reflector is arranged around the burner tube below the mantle and above the regulator. A glass globe is arranged around the burner tube/mantle assembly and a ventilator cap is arranged above the globe. The ventilator cap attaches to rails which extend up from opposite sides of the lower housing and can be readily removed to access the mantle.

Abstract: A connection for oilfield use is disclosed. It features male and female components held together by dogs actuable through one of the members and into the other. Different configurations of the connections envision a built-in preload to the connection when made-up. This is accomplished by a cantilevered component at the extremity of one of the components of the connection. Alternatively, the preload feature can be incorporated into the dog or other locking assembly that holds the components of the connection together. The connection is particularly useful in subsea chokes which have a removable insert which can be mounted to or removed from the choke body which is located subsea.

  • Patent number: 6142537
Abstract: The connector includes a male member with an engaging portion on its outer face, a female member with an inner space for receiving the male member and a pair of manipulating members provided in the female member from opposite sides. The engaging portion of the male member is received through and behind the pair of manipulating members in the inner space. Each manipulating member has a part which enters the track region of the engaging portion and an elastic piece. The coupling of the male and female members is reliably obtained by two opposite side engagements between the engaging portion of the male member and the pair of manipulating members and maintained by the thrusting force by the elastic piece.

  • Patent number: 6086119
Abstract: A detachable, quick connect connector having a retaining spring with jaws for engaging a locking ring of a tube. The connector includes a housing with a chamber for receiving the tube and the retaining spring. The retaining spring has a pair of inwardly directed jaws which are opened by pushing a plate connected by webs to the jaws. When opened, the jaws permit the locking ring to pass through and close to engage the ring when the tube has been fully inserted. A support member projects outwardly from each jaw and is received in a recess formed in the housing wall. The support members have arcuate surfaces to engage a contact surface along the recess to secure the retaining spring axially in the housing. The end faces are beveled outwardly from a radial plane by an angle between 15.degree. and 60.degree. to increase the retaining force of the support members.

  • Patent number: 6059324
Abstract: A coupling element connects a connection piece with an insertable end of a connection tube having a toroidal flange for contacting the connection piece in the tube inserting direction. A plug-in fork can be inserted into the coupling element to releasably secure the inserted tube end area against the tube inserting direction, with the tube torus held in place by the plug-in fork. For this purpose, pairs of plug-through openings are provided on side walls of the connection piece opposite one another, so that one prong of the plug-in fork can be inserted into each opening. Inserting bevels are assigned to at least a portion of the plug-through openings, which inserting bevels are shaped such that they cause a forced movement of the plug in fork in the tube inserting direction during its insertion in the plug-in fork inserting direction.

Abstract: A self-locking quick-disconnect coupling device includes a female coupler including a stop formed thereon and an opening defined therethrough. A male adaptor through which a recess is defined is insertable into the female coupler. A cam handle includes a handle portion and a cam portion rotatably mounted on the coupler between a releasing and an engaging position so that the cam portion is moved through the hole into the recess. A hooking element is pivotably linked to the handle portion. The hooking element includes a barb projecting therefrom and including an inclined surface. A locking control element including first and second distal ends is pivotably linked to the handle portion. The inclined surface will slide on the stop when the cam portion is pivoted from the releasing position to the engaging position thus allowing the barb to snap into engagement with the stop when the cam handle is in the engaging position.
