  • Patent number: 4422472
Abstract: A detachable valve and slip joint structure is provided to permit removal of a basin pump. The structure includes an elbow joint attachable to the pump and having a lifting eye and a check valve to prevent backflow into the pump. The horizontal outlet from the elbow has a downwardly opening U-shaped flange and a pressure seal to engage a lip on a tubular outlet pipe which contains a 90.degree. plug or ball valve. The stem of the 90.degree. valve is attachable to a handle and carries a locking tab movable between stops. The tab engages the elbow when the 90.degree. valve is in its open position, preventing disengagement of the flange and lip slip joint until the valve is rotated to its closed position.

  • Patent number: 4382155
Abstract: A lock for a cathodic test station apparatus includes interfitting thread segments at diametrically-opposite portions of a cover and on the outer surface of a test station collar used to support an upstanding terminal board for coupling test leads thereto. An L-shaped resilient lock is attached to the end wall of the collar. The resilient leg extends along the side wall adjacent the leading end of one thread segment.

  • Patent number: 4135742
Abstract: A coupling for tubular members in mechanically flexible fluid tight relation, and providing cooperative means permitting limited axial, angular, and radial misalignment, while maintaining fluid tight connection. The unique design of this coupling allows for accommodating the various misalignments with assurance of fluid tight connection in a straight forward, inexpensive manner. Optional features which provide for damping of vibrations from the fluid lines to the coupling and means opposing axial forces tending to separate the fluid lines connected by the coupling are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4129323
Abstract: This invention relates to a hose coupling having mounted thereon a leaf spring locking member of such a configuration that the free end is so disposed that it constitutes a stop which is shiftable by the guard arm of the other one of a pair of hose couplings out of the pathway of this guard arm on the other one of the hose couplings as the one hose coupling and the arm thereon are rotated toward the fully coupled position of the pair of hose couplings. The configuration of the stop is such that the resiliency of the leaf spring locking member, upon the pair of couplings reaching their fully coupled position in which the arm passes out of contact with the stop, shifts this stop to a position in the pathway of the arm thereby preventing unwanted uncoupling of the pair of fully coupled hose couplings until the leaf spring is manually deflected to shift the stop out of the pathway of the guard arm.

  • Patent number: 4069947
Abstract: There is disclosed an adaptor which enables a gas-consuming tool or appliance, for example a blowlamp or a light, to be attached to a puncturable gas cartridge. The adaptor comprises a main body part defining a through passage, a valve member which may be moved from a position in which the through passage is closed to a position in which this passage is open, means for urging the valve member into a closed position, a piercing member, means for creating a seal between the adaptor and a gas cartridge, and means for urging the adaptor and a gas cartridge together. The adaptor includes a housing into which in operation a gas cartridge is received and which is apertured at its top to allow insertion of the main body part.

  • Patent number: 3974875
Abstract: Extended casing method and apparatus for completing an underwater well whereby complete and continuous pressure control is maintained at the surface drilling platform. A conductor casing is installed in the floor of a body of water with a casing head and riser attached near the floor. Other casing is installed and supported at the water floor by hanger heads and having other risers extending upwardly therefrom. Pressure control equipment is installed at the upper end of one of the risers. An innermost casing having a tubing hanger-head attached is lowered through the pressure control equipment and installed. An orientation sleeve is aligned with the tubing hanger-head to properly orient the tubing hanger. The tubing hanger and tubing, is then passed through the pressure control equipment and the innermost riser, to which the pressure control equipment is attached and is lowered to engage the orientation sleeve for proper alignment with the innermost hanger-head and remotely latched thereto.
