Helical Spring Patents (Class 29/227)
  • Patent number: 10774868
Abstract: A wire thread insert comprises besides a cylindrical helix consisting of a plurality of coils a moving tang projecting into the interior of the helix for installing the wire thread insert into a receiving thread. The wire thread insert is connected to the cylindrical helix via a bending portion such that the moving tang can be redressed into the receiving thread after installation of the wire thread insert. The wire thread insert is installed by means of an installation tool with a mounting spindle, which installs the wire thread insert in the receiving thread via a moving shoulder and the moving tang. A compression blade provided at the mounting spindle bends the moving tang back into the receiving thread while the mounting spindle is removed from the installed wire thread insert.

  • Patent number: 7062826
Abstract: A special tool for assembling and disassembling a remote-controllable model-car engine clutch has a head, and a prying claw formed to extend up from the head. The prying claw has an engage groove laterally in an upper section and a pushing groove formed in an upper end surface. The engage groove of the prying claw pries open a torsion spring of each of plural grasps of a clutch for disassembling each grasp from a base fixed with an engine. The pushing groove of the prying claw pries open the torsion spring and then assembles each grasp of the clutch one by one on the base. The special tool has double functions, lowering its cost and package and facilitating handling of assembly and disassembly of an engine clutch.

  • Patent number: 6860173
Abstract: A tool for installing a helical coil insert in a tapped hole formed in a workpiece includes a tubular body having a bore extending along its axis, a mandrel coaxially disposed in the bore of the tubular body, a motor for rotating the mandrel, and an air cylinder for applying an axial force to the mandrel. The tubular body includes a recess at one end for carrying a helical coil insert in alignment with the bore. An opening in the tubular body allows a user access to the recess. The tubular body is moveable to position the helical coil into selective engagement with the mandrel, whereby rotation of the mandrel installs the helical coil insert a selected depth in the tapped hole of the workpiece. In addition, the mandrel slides axially within the bore of the tubular body to remove the tang from the helical coil insert upon installation of the helical coil insert in the tapped hole.
