  • Patent number: 7266884
Abstract: The wedge removal apparatus includes an elongated frame having telescopic elements at opposite ends with cylinders to engage pads along opposite sides of the frame against diametrically opposed wedges of stator core slots. The frame mounts a linear drive assembly carrying a carriage for longitudinal movement relative to the drive assembly and frame. The carriage mounts diametrically opposed heads and a cylinder displaces the heads radially outwardly to engage the wedges and compress underlying ripple springs. Saws carried by the heads cut through the wedges as the carriage is displaced along the frame and without binding because of the force applied to the wedges compressing the ripple springs. The linear drive assembly is rotated to discrete circumferential positions to cut the wedges of additional diametrically opposed slots.

  • Patent number: 6883221
Abstract: A pin removal and placement tool (50) has a body member (52) made of plate steel having a contact surface (52b) and a rear edge (52c). Tool (50) also may have an anvil plate (54) mounted on a striking plate (56), a drive shaft (58), and a handle (70) projecting at a right angle from the body member (52). The striking plate (56) is fixedly mounted to the rear edge (52c) and anvil plate (54) is disposed at a selected angle to the drive shaft (58) to enhance the striking force of drive shaft (58) and to reduce the length of the tool (50) so as to facilitate its insertion between the teeth of buckets, etc. A shoe (62) may be mounted on tool (5) to adjust the clearance between contact surface (52b) and drive shaft (58). The handle (70) may be either removably or fixedly attached to the body member (52) and be dimensioned and mounted to selectively project from a selected side thereof, or from both sides thereof.

  • Patent number: 6836946
Abstract: An apparatus for removing nails from a tape is provided. The apparatus comprises a guide that directs a path of movement of the tape through the apparatus. The guide has a transition end over which the tape passes as the tape moves through the apparatus. The guide transition end is adapted to form a bend in the tape thereby exposing a head of the nail from the tape as the tape passes over the guide transition end. The apparatus further comprises a claw that is adapted to engage the nail head as the nail head is exposed when the tape passes over the guide transition end.

The tool (5) uses common or separate channels on the same or separate tools to slide over the deck pins (1), thereby compressing the flexible legs (2) of the deck pins (1) together. An upward movement on the handle (7) of the tool enables the deck pins (1) to be extracted. The insertion channel (22) contains a roof portion (16) for pressing downward on the deck pins (1).

  • Patent number: 6675461
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a magnetic dipole antenna employing one or more spacers is disclosed. The magnetic dipole antenna having three plates, where each plate has holes for inserting one or more spacers through the bottom and middle plates. The distance separation between the top plate and the middle plate of the magnetic dipole antenna determines the operational frequency. Spacers are used to adjust and secure gap between top and middle plates and fix operational frequency of antenna at desired target frequency. A coaxial cable is attached to the magnetic dipole antenna for measuring the resonant frequency.

  • Patent number: 6450931
Abstract: A device for removing eyelets, in particular stainless steel eyelets, from textile or plastics sheets is provided. Eyelets in textiles or plastics sheets, for example in lorry tarpaulins, wear through in the course of their use and thus have as a rule a significantly shorter service life than the textile or plastics sheet. Thus, it is usual and economically worthwhile to replace the worn-through eyelets with new ones, in order thus to be able to exploit the total service life of the textile or plastics sheet. The removal of eyelets previously has been effected as a rule by hand, which is time consuming and uneconomical. Thus, there is provided a device for removing eyelets, in particular stainless steel eyelets, from textile or plastics sheets, having a claw head for pressing a beading of the eyelet in the direction of the eyelet center point or in the opposite direction.

  • Patent number: 6249947
Abstract: A Mohs tapered handle remover enables a user to remove a bit by rotating a knob on a first end of the device to actuate the device. The knob, through a threaded interface, drives a slide rod outward. The slide rod causes a raising block to separate from a slide seat, thereby driving the bit out of the handle. The device enables the user to use rotational force instead of a direct force to remove the bit.

  • Patent number: 6141868
Abstract: A method of and apparatus for assembling a disk drive. The method comprises steps of clamping a number of head suspension assemblies in an actuator body such that base plate hubs in the suspensions are in alignment with corresponding boss holes in actuator arms extending from the actuator body, inserting closed jaws between the actuator arms and in alignment with the base plates, and opening the jaws a reach sufficient to urge each base plate hub into a corresponding boss hole. The jaws are opened by any suitable mechanism, for example by driving a wedge in between the closed jaws. A novel apparatus is employed for joining base plate hubs to actuator arms extending from an actuator body. The apparatus includes an actuator body clamp adapted to hold a number of suspensions in the actuator body, with hubs of the suspensions in alignment with boss holes in the actuator arms.

  • Patent number: 6131263
Abstract: A slot is formed behind each face of a stackable laser bar spacer of the type having a laser bar supporting face and a lower face for contacting a laser bar therebelow, each slot being generally parallel to the face in front of it and being located near an edge thereof. This produces a thin, flap-like portion at an end of each face. When it is desired to release a stuck laser bar from a face, this flap portion is caused to flex in the direction of the laser bar. The laser bar, being relatively inflexible, will be lifted away from the corresponding face, breaking free thereof. The stacked spacers may then be separated and the laser bars removed therefrom.
