  • Patent number: 8061000
Abstract: An anchor installation tool has an elongated member with a body portion and a head portion. The body portion includes an internal bore to receive a drill bit. The head portion projects from and has a diameter smaller than the body portion. The head portion is coaxial with the body portion. An anchor guide has a sleeve-shaped body with a bore throughout the body. The bore has a portion sized to fit over the body portion and a portion to fit over the head portion. The guide slides on the body and head portions. A mechanism retains the anchor guide onto the body portion. The retaining mechanism enables sliding of the anchor guide and prohibits removal of the anchor guide from the body portion.

Abstract: A breaching device (100) includes an elongated main body (4) that forms an outer surface (2) and has a front end (24). The elongated main body (4) divides along a length and forms substantially equal upper (20) and lower (22) portions. A first curved handle (6) is attached to the outer surface (2) and extends a first height (21) over a portion of the upper portion (20). A partition (10) is attached to the outer surface (2) between the first curved handle (6) and the front end (24), and extends a second height (15) over the upper portion (20) and generally transverse to the length of the elongated main body (4). The second height (15) is greater than the first height (21).

Abstract: A swage collar and an internal sealing insert form a swage collar assembly used in combination with a structural fastener to prevent leakage through a connection of workpieces fastened together by the structural fastener. The swage collar has a hollow, generally cylindrical main body portion with a main central bore, and a base portion with an internal shoulder formed in the main central bore so as to form a seal receiving guide. The shaft of the fastener typically includes a threaded section and an unthreaded section, and the internal sealing insert interfaces with the threaded section and the unthreaded section of the shaft of the pin. In an alternate embodiment, the internal sealing insert interfaces with the unthreaded section of shaft of the pin.

Abstract: A ballistic battering ram device that uses gun powder to produce a striking force. The ballistic battering ram includes a hollow casing, a bolt piston housing housed within the hollow casing, a bolt housed within the bolt piston housing and configured to slide back and forth, and a firing pin attached to the bolt and configured to strike the primer on the explosive casing. When the user strikes the door with the ballistic battering ram a front plate makes contact with the door pushing the bolt piston housing towards a chamber piston. Simultaneously, a retention pin timing spring pushes against a retention pin withdrawing the retention pin from inside the hollow casing. This action may allow the chamber piston to move backwards after firing which may be important for recoil management.

Abstract: A tool for removing a spindle and/or elastomeric bearing from a hub generally includes a coupler, an arm, and a weight slidably engaged with the arm. The weight is slidable with respect to the arm along a predetermined stroke that limits the travel of the weight. The coupler may be secured to a spindle, which spindle is in turn secured to a bearing, or the coupler may be secured directly to the bearing. An operator may slide the weight between a first position adjacent the coupler and a second position opposite the coupler to impart kinetic energy to the spindle and/or bearing, thereby removing the bearing from or the bearing installing into a hub, depending on whether the kinetic energy is in an inboard or outboard direction.

Interchangeable impact heads are provided, each having an elongated male section fit into an open end of the body, a flange abutting the end when the male section is in the body, and an operative end configured to generate a desired impact against the door. A retainer threads into the body to retain the head to the body, but still the flange transfers energy to the body from the impact and not the retainer. The plurality of impact heads are particularly shaped for specific different tasks, such as oversize heads for weight and large surface, undersized heads for high force and damage, and wedge-shaped heads for prying/wedging.
