  • Patent number: 5218749
Abstract: A handheld punch tool assembly having individual removable punch segments formed of a high strength material capable of being struck repeatedly by a striking instrument, each of the individual punch segments including a substantially flat punch surface on one end thereof structured to engage in abutting relation with a substantially flat corresponding surface to be punched. Each of the individual punch segments have a different transverse dimension than a remainder of the punch segments so as to effectively vary the size of the punch surface. The individual punch segments are removably attachable to one another to form an elongate, multi-punch segment body of variable length. A plurality of various size collar members are each individually structured to be removably fitted about a corresponding one of the punch segments so as to effectively increase the transverse dimension and accordingly, the size of the punch surface of that particular punch segment.

The hammering space is alternatively provided by an attachment assembly fitted between a conventional wrench handle and socket head of a conventional socket wrench. The attachment assembly comprises an upper adapter and a lower adapter for mounting on a conventional socket wrench. When screwing or unscrewing a screw or the like, the hammering space of the socket wrench or attachment assembly allows the generation of a hammering or striking force without using an external force or tool such as a hammer of the like to hit the wrench handle. Both the socket wrench and attachment assembly achieve the hammering affect by utilizing a substantially diamond-shaped head pinned between the socket wrench handle and the socket head. The diamond-shaped head allows relative movement between the handle and the socket for generating hammering forces.

  • Patent number: 4745671
Abstract: Article removal apparatus having a plurality of bearing members adapted to engage the rear surface of an article to be removed from its mounting member. The bearing members are attached to or a part of a flexible belt adapted to be tightened on a peripheral surface of the article to be removed with the bearing members engaging the rear surface of the article. A slide hammer is attached to the flexible belt, so that the impact of the slide of the slide hammer is transferred to the bearing members.

  • Patent number: 4740257
Abstract: Disclosed is a system for covering installed ceiling tiles without removal of the tiles from the ceiling. The system includes a novel facing for covering an installed ceiling tile, a method of applying the facing to the face of an installed tile and apparatus for carrying out the method. The novel facing includes a panel of at least semi-rigid material having a decorative surface, an underside surface and a flexible border which extends at an angle from and about the periphery of the decorative surface. The panel's underside surface is prefit to cover the face of an installed ceiling tile and is provided with selectively located pins which project from the underside surface of the facing. The disclosed method includes providing the aforementioned decorative facing and marking the face of the tile to provide selectively located marks on the face of the tile which are capable of aligning with the facing's selectively located pins to center the facing on the tile.

  • Patent number: 4720904
Abstract: A tool for removing hinge pins from aircraft. The tool head includes a lower member having an opening adapted for the receipt of a bent end of a hinge pin. An upper member is attached to the lower member so that it may pivot to cover and uncover the opening, thus securely locking the hinge pin in the tool head. The hinge pin rests in a groove in the lower member to properly position the pin in the tool head. The upper member is locked into position over the opening by tightening a wingnut on a threaded post against the upper member. A cutout section in the upper member provides clearance for the threaded post. The tool head may be mounted on the end of a slide hammer. The slide hammer shaft is threaded, allowing a drill chuck or other heads to be attached as the head of the slide hammer for hinge pins without bent ends.

  • Patent number: 4713868
Abstract: An installation tool adapted for driving leader hooks into the side of a building for supporting a leader of a gutter system is disclosed. Conventionally, leader hooks are driven by means of a projecting shoulder using a hammer or other such compressive tool. The difficulty in installing these leader hooks has arisen as a result of the shoulder being relatively narrow and difficult to engage with blows of a compression tool. To this end, the installation tool is in the nature of a cap adapted to receive the head and shoulder of leader hooks having rectangular or circular-shaped heads. The installation tool, by being adapted to accommodate either shape, avoids the necessity of having to maintain a separate tool for each shape leader hook.

Abstract: A centering pin having a head, round shaft and tapered, ovaloid point is disclosed. Opposing sides of said tapered point are symmetrical such that the radius of each is equal to the radius of the round shaft of the pin. The tapered pin point can readily be inserted into partially aligned holes in metal plates, leather straps, etc. that are to be connected and secured by said pin. A cotter pin or the like is inserted into an aperture on the shaft adjacent the tapered point to securely position the pin once it is passed through the holes of the items being connected.

  • Patent number: 4670957
Abstract: The disclosed crimping tool has two faces substantially normal to one another across an interior corner, which fit then against and over a corner bead piece, which in turn is positioned against and over an exterior structural corner of meeting plasterboard sheets. A post extends rearwardly away from the faces, and a striker is mounted to move on the post. A crimping pin is carried relative to each face, connected at their remote ends to the striker, and connected relative to the frame by means of a shaft fitting through an angled slot in each crimping pin. As arranged, each crimping pin is operable to move from one axial position with a die end recessed behind the faces to another axial position with the die end projected forwardly beyond the faces. The crimping pins are angled relative to one another and relative to each respective tool face.
