    Abstract: A machine tool according to the present invention is provided with a door opening/closing device including a movable door, a door opening/closing drive motor configured to drive the movable door, a power transferring mechanism configured to transfer power of the door opening/closing drive motor to the movable door. The machine tool includes a disturbance torque estimation unit configured to estimate a disturbance torque applied to the door opening/closing drive motor at an opening/closing operation of the movable door, a torque comparison unit configured to compare the disturbance torque estimated by the disturbance torque estimation unit to a predetermined first upper limit and a predetermined first lower limit, and a motor stop unit configured to stop the opening/closing operation of the movable door when the torque comparison unit determines that the disturbance torque is larger than the first upper limit or smaller than the first lower limit.

    Abstract: An apparatus for assembling camera modules to flexible printed circuit boards (PCBs) includes a number of trays, a surface mounting device used in surface mount technology (SMT) for PCBs, and a hot pressing device. Workpieces, each of which includes a flexible PCB (FPCB) and a lens module positioned on the FPCB, are received in the trays. Each tray is sent to the surface mounting device. The surface mounting device loads and pastes a stiffener onto a FBCB, opposite to a lens module. The hot pressing device hot presses each stiffener to the respective workpiece, which is received in each tray sent from the surface mounting device, to fixedly secure the stiffener to the respective workpiece to form a camera module.

    Abstract: A convertible flange insertion machine for the insertion of a pair of internally threaded flanges into a drum head of a shipping container is disclosed. The machine includes a pair of continuously moving drum head conveyor chains running along conveyor supports and between a pair of tooling dies that upon compression insert flanges into the drum head. A pair of flange conveyors run along side the drum head conveyor and include a pair of side rails with two lips for guiding the lips of flanges according to two different flange styles. The flange conveyors terminate at a lateral transfer mechanism. One lateral transfer mechanism includes an indexer with two pawls that sequentially indexes flanges in a two step procedure over a pair of spring loaded stops and into the receiving pocket of a tooling block. The tooling block places the flanges over the tooling die where a release assembly forces the flanges out of the tooling block and onto the die.
