Abstract: A method and apparatus for producing a hole in any material by means of controlled fracturing using non-spindle CNC machining includes the steps of: fixturing a workpiece to the table of a non-spindle CNC holemaking machine tool. The cutting tool is then secured to the column of the machine tool and the face of the cutting tool is positioned perpendicular to the centerline of the proposed hole. The surface of the workpiece is approached with the cutting tool to a predetermined clearance level. Thereafter, the cutting tool is driven with sufficient linear force to induce instantaneous strain in the material of the workpiece to a depth necessary to create a hole of a desired size and shape using a drive mechanism. The cutting tool is then repositioned so that the face of cutting tool is perpendicular to centerline of a subsequent hole to be produced.

Abstract: An arrangement and a method to align a part of a wind turbine to a counterpart is provided. The arrangement includes an alignment tool. The alignment tool includes a first area to be connected to a part of the wind turbine, and a second area that protrudes over the physical dimensions of the part of the wind turbine. The second area is arranged and prepared in a way that it abuts on the counterpart during the alignment of the part of the wind turbine and its counterpart. The arrangement includes a second alignment tool. The second alignment tool protrudes less far over the physical dimensions of the part of the wind turbine then the first alignment tool. • Patent number: 6875631
Abstract: A CF card (1) comprises: a casing constituted by two panel plates (2, 2) and a frame (3); and a printed wiring board (4) accommodated in the casing. A plurality of claw-like engaging parts (5) are provided to the peripheries of the panel plates (2). When the CF card (1) is assembled, the engaging parts (5) of the first panel plate (2) are inserted into through holes of a long groove (8) provided in the frame (3) and then the printed wiring board (4) is mounted on the panel plate (2) located at the inside of the frame (3). Thereafter, the engaging parts (5) of the second panel plate (2) are inserted into the through holes of the long groove (8) from the surface located in the opposite side of the frame (3). There are two types of engaging parts (5): one having lances and the other having holes. Inside the through holes, the lances of the engaging parts (5) of one panel plate (2) are inserted into the holes of the engaging parts (5) of the other panel plate (2).

Abstract: In an apparatus in which workpieces are joined by self-piercing rivets, for example, a jig is used to determine whether axial alignment of a punch and a die is within an acceptable range. The jig substitutes for a die and has a shank and a head, the shank fitting within a die-receiving bore of the apparatus and the head having an axial opening receiving the punch when alignment is within the acceptable range. The head is constructed to permit viewing of the relationship of the punch and the opening.

  • Patent number: 6352236
Abstract: A mold box is flexibly mounted to a product forming machine having upper and lower vertically displaceable beams. A feed drawer dispenses concrete material into the mold box while a vibration system vertically vibrates the mold box while dampening horizontal vibration. The vibration system is driven by a single drive shaft that actuates first and second vibrator rods while at the same rotating a counter-weight in a counter-rotating direction. A set of alignment brackets lock the mold box into a predetermined aligned relationship while being mounted in the product forming machine. The bottom side of each mold box is mounted to the product forming machine in the same relative position to reduce machine readjustments. A set of telescoping legs hold the feed drawer assembly variable distances above the mold box. A unitized pallet feeder quickly moves pallets one at a time from an “on-deck” position to a “receiving” position underneath the mold box.
