  • Publication number: 20140072394
Abstract: A reel assembly for a chain hoist having a sprocket mounted to a drive portion of a reel. The sprocket is configured to distribute rotational force to links of a drive chain, such as for moving a spare tire in and out of an access position. The sprocket has a first axial half and a second axial half that are formed via a stamped materials and fixedly secured together centrally and mounted on the drive portion. The sprocket includes protrusions and pairs of fingers arranged around and extending radially from a perimeter thereof in an alternating configuration in a circumferential direction. Each protrusion is constructed and arranged to at least partially extend through and engage at least insides of alternate horizontal links of the chain. The pairs of fingers are configured to be circumferentially aligned and receive radially oriented links of the chain therebetween and contact the outsides thereof.

Abstract: A method reinforcing an axisymmetric annular metal part by including a winding of composite material. A metal blank for the part is prepared, a cavity is formed therein that opens out into a coaxial inside face thereof, and that presents a right cross-section of axial extent that decreases from the inside towards the outside, a reinforcing yarn is wound in the cavity, the cavity is closed, the assembly is subjected to a hot isostatic compression process, and the blank is machined to obtain a final part.

  • Publication number: 20110047798
Abstract: The present invention is a method for making a film cassette end plate and a film cassette comprises two end plates. The uncoated end plates are formed using one of several known plastic forming methods. The end plates are coated with an inorganic coating to impart smoothness and hardness to facilitate film handling and reduce wear. The end plates are mounted on a shaft to form a cassette.

  • Publication number: 20080149752
Abstract: This invention is a method for manufacturing a spinning reel from an extrusion and in particular the frame or housing of a spinning reel, the method comprises the steps of providing a single long bar single extrusion, the extrusion includes two regions, a first region comprises a hollow, tube-like portion and a second region comprises a filled portion, the filled portion extending exterior of the hollow portion and transverse to the longitudinal axis of the second region, cutting a blank from the end of the extrusion to form a blank and machining the blank to provide a frame or housing of a spinning reel. The invention is also directed to a spinning reel frame formed by an extrusion.

  • Publication number: 20080146317
Abstract: An enhanced reel strip includes a base reel strip and an overlay strip, wherein the base reel strip has symbols applied thereto and the overlay strip has designated portions thereof removed to create cut-outs. The base reel strip and overlay strip are affixed in such a manner that the symbols of the base reel strip are visible through the cut-outs of the overlay strip. The joined strips produce an enhanced reel strip. Furthermore, these enhanced reel strip production methods dramatically improve the quality and appearance of reel strips while utilizing a relatively simple manufacturing process that maintains cost effectiveness.

  • Patent number: 6914196
Abstract: A reel-deployed printed circuit board for chip-on-board (COB) packages and a method for manufacturing COB packages using the reel printed circuit board are disclosed. The novel circuit board comprises an elongated, flexible base board and a plurality of unit boards defined within it by a plurality of slits cut through it. Each unit board comprises a plurality of bonding pads on its top surface, a plurality of contacts on its bottom surface, and a plurality of via holes that electrically connect the contacts to the bonding pads. The circuit board further comprises connection bars that connect the unit boards to the flexible base board. The method for manufacturing COB packages using the reel-deployed printed circuit board comprises the steps of forming the reel printed circuit board, attaching a semiconductor chip to it, connecting the semiconductor chip to the bonding pads, encapsulating the semiconductor chip, and separating the COB packages from the reel printed circuit board.

  • Patent number: 6857187
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a measuring wheel for wireline operations includes the step of machining a metal wheel to achieve a first outer radius. The metal wheel is positioned within a ceramic ring having an inner radius that exceeds the first outer radius by an amount in the range of 0.005 to 0.010 inches, defining a gap between the ceramic ring and the metal wheel. The gap is substantially filled with a suitable epoxy, and the epoxy is cured to adjoin the ceramic ring to the metal wheel. The perimeter of the ceramic ring is machined to achieve a second outer radius and a desirable surface finish and pattern.
