Padlock Or Seal Catch Patents (Class 292/148)
  • Patent number: 11649661
Abstract: A system to barricade a door from forced entry is disclosed. The system includes an anchor insertable by a user into a receptacle mounted into a floor on the inside on the door, and a lock affixable to the door. The anchor includes an upper portion designed to connect with the lock, and a lower portion that preferably fits within the receptacle. The lock includes a stop designed to contact the outside surface of the door, and a key plate on the inside of the door. When the anchor is vertically inserted into the receptacle, the upper portion of the anchor engages the key plate of the lock affixed to the door, which in conjunction with the stop prevents the door from swinging outwards. The anchor can be removed from the receptacle when the user doesn't desire to barricade the door.

Abstract: A portable information handling system rotationally couples first and second housing portions with a dual axle sequential hinge. Over a predetermined rotational orientation of one axle, a cam integrated with the axle engages a fulcrum biased into the hinge so that the fulcrum extends out of the hinge to support the information handling system at a support surface. For instance, before rotation of a lid housing portion relative to a main housing portion brings the lid housing portion into contact with the support surface, the fulcrum extends towards the support surface to raise the main housing portion and lid housing portion away from the support surface.

Abstract: A hazard alert device, which can be battery powered or hard wired, is configured to provide a hazard alert when a gate along an edge of an elevated surface is in the open position. Upon detecting the gate is in the open position, the device produces an audible and visual alert. When the gate, disposed within a portion of the barrier, is opened to allow the movement of people and/or materials to or from the elevated surface, the device includes a snooze mode enabling the audible alarm to be silenced for a period of time. • Patent number: 6842338
Abstract: A laptop computer display module (28) for use in a clamshell type laptop computer includes a telescoping rail assembly (100) that enables the display module (28) to be extended upwardly from a keyboard module (24) of the laptop computer when the display module is rotated to an open position. A computer display panel (28) is rotatably mounted to a display support member (120) of the display module adjacent a top margin of the display panel (70) so that the display panel (70) can be manually swung away from the display support member (120) and toward a user of the laptop computer (20). The invention enables the display panel (70) to be positioned at a comfortable viewing angle without blocking access to the keyboard module (24) for typing and is particularly useful in depth-constrained workspaces such as airplane passenger seats, where the display support member (120) must be positioned at an acute angle relative to the keyboard module (24).

  • Patent number: 6823701
Abstract: A door latching device is disclosed that is mountable to conventional doors, including cargo container doors and garage doors, for preventing opening thereof. A conventional keyed lock, such as a padlock or puck-shaped protected shackle lock, couples with the latching device to lock the latching device in a latched position with a door. The latching device includes a rigid housing having an attachment bolt affixed thereto for securing the latching device to the door, a slidable locking pin having an opening for receiving a locking pin ingress/egress. In a locked position, the locking pin protrudes from the housing, and the lock is coupled with the locking pin to prevent movement of the same. In an unlocked position, the lock is uncoupled from the locking pin to permit sliding of the locking pin. The housing provides limited access to the lock once the lock is coupled with the locking pin.

  • Patent number: 6772613
Abstract: A lock system for a horizontal tool box wherein the latching mechanism for the lid may be operated from the proximal end of the toolbox and locking is achieved by means of a single padlock which is likewise located at the proximal end of the toolbox. An elongated latch rod is slidably disposed adjacent a front wall of either the body or lid components of the box. The padlock and the elongated latch rod are disposed such that the padlock body blocks the longitudinal movement of the proximal end of the latch rod and maintains the latch rod in the latched position when the body components are in the closed position and the padlock is locked, but the proximal end of the latch rod passes between the shackle and the padlock body to move the latch rod to the release position when the padlock is unlocked.
