  • Patent number: 4576405
Abstract: There is disclosed a door latch mechanism having a sliding latch mounted to slide from a retracted position to an extended position in which it is adapted to engage in a keeper slot to hold the door closed. A pivoted actuator for the latch is adapted to engage a striker during closing of the door to retract the actuator. When the actuator is retracted it retracts the latch. A manual operator for retracting the actuator is operable from the inside or outside of the door. A locking member prevents retraction of the sliding latch to lock the door.

  • Patent number: 4508377
Abstract: A door handle unit which comprises a unit body secured to a door, a lever type handle pivoted to the body by means of a main shaft mounted between upper and lower side walls of the body, a latch case fitted into the body from its rear side, a latch housed in the latch case so as to protrude and retreat from a left side wall of the body, a spring for urging the latch to slide leftward, a strike shaft mounted between the upper and lower side walls of the body, and two hook portions formed to project from the front portions of the latch case and opened rightward, in which those two right and left hook portions are engaged with the main shaft and the strike shaft respectively, and an actuating projection formed at the left end portion of the handle is brought into pressure-contact with the left side face of a receiving portion formed at the right end of the latch, thereby to urge the latch case to move rightward with respect to the body by virtue of the spring.

  • Patent number: 4335912
Abstract: A door locking apparatus has a grip bar mounted on the main handle for operating a door locking bolt. The grip bar is movable forward and rearward. A pair of links are located within the handle, facing the grip bar and forming therewith an isoceles triangle, the base of which is the grip bar. The intermediate portion of each link is pivotally attached to the handle. These links are interconnected to each other at their forward end portions, and are connected at their base end portions to the grip bar, for relative movement therebetween. Consequently, the grip bar can be given a parallel motion even when the same is gripped at any portion.

  • Patent number: 4257647
Abstract: A latch assembly for a pivoted vehicle seat (14) which provides sufficient locking capability to permit a seat belt (15) to be mounted on the frame (10) of the seat as opposed to the base (16) of the vehicle. The latch assembly includes two slidable horizontally spaced apart latch blocks (20,20') mounted on the frame (10) of the seat (14) for engaging base mounted catches (22,22'). Two actuator arms (48,48') coupled to the frame, are operatively connected to each latch block (20,20') and are secured to and positioned by an operator actuated release member (36). Movement of the actuator arms (48,48') causes the latch blocks (20,20') to disengage the base (16) mounted catches (22,22') substantially simultaneously.

  • Patent number: 4080757
Abstract: The invention relates to a safety latch assembly for a warehouse type door that has rollers riding in a vertical guide track, such track having latching holes at various points along its length. The latch assembly has a latch pin with a roller end spring biased toward the track, and rides on the track with the door until it comes into latching engagement with one of the aforementioned holes, and locks the door into its current position. Withdrawing the latch pin from the hole resets the bias spring as the door becomes unlocked.
