  • Patent number: 6227019
Abstract: A stand alone, electronic gate lock is integrally mountable with a barrier, such as a perimeter fence of an airport. The gate lock is configured to be locked and unlocked by an electronic key from key access ports on each of interior and exterior sides of the barrier. An electronic controller of the gate lock stores data associated with each attempted electronic key access of the gate lock, so that a history of access to the gate can be tracked. This enables every access to the gate lock to be tracked, thereby increasing the likelihood that the gate will be maintained in its locked condition at all times other than when opened for authorized access.

  • Patent number: 6203077
Abstract: An over-center toggle latch for securing two members together having a latch housing affixed to one of the members, a keeper affixed to the other of the members, a toggle pivotally mounted within the housing for pivotal movement between a first position and a second position, and a retainer disposed within the housing and in pivotal contact with each of the housing and the toggle for retaining the toggle in either of the first and second positions. The keeper pivots the toggle from the first position to the second position upon the closing of the latch and the keeper pivots the toggle from the second position to the first position upon the opening of the latch. A switch operable between a closed position and an open position wherein a circuit is closed only when the keeper means is in the second position and the circuit is open only when the keeper is in the first position, the switch being completely inoperable until the keeper is fully inserted in the housing whereby closing of the circuit is avoided.

  • Patent number: 6179351
Abstract: The present invention relates to a locking device with movable indicator (4, 5) for sensing the “door closed” or “door open” position of a dead-bolt, provided with a pivotably journalled rotating cam (2) (securing plate) intended to be moved between open and locked position by the released dead-bolt (8). The invention is characterized in that the rotating cam (2) and the indicator are mutually connected by means of a spring, e.g. a tension spring (1) arranged in closed, locking position to produce a force component in the closing direction of the rotating cam, and upon removal of the dead-bolt (8) from the rotating cam, i.e. when the door is opened by means of the indicator, to be displaced in relation to the centre (3) of rotation of the rotating cam so that a force component is obtained in opening direction and the rotating cam is turned to opening position by a snap action of the spring.
