Sliding And Hooked End Patents (Class 292/8)
  • Patent number: 4683733
Abstract: A door locking mechanism enclosed within a casing for locking a door to its door frame. The door lock includes at least one bolt displaceable inside the casing through a bore in a side wall thereof, to engage a registering bore in the door frame. A base leg is fixed to the rear of the bolt, and includes a Y-shaped notch. A conventional keylock cylinder is fixed within the casing, and a key operated barrel is journalled within the cylinder and offset from the center of the latter and has a radially-outwardly-projecting lug. An annular member is rotatably mounted around the keylock cylinder between two opposite casing walls, and includes an inner projection and an outer operating arm which engages the Y-shaped notch of the base leg.

  • Patent number: 4643005
Abstract: A multiple-bolt locking mechanism particularly for use with sliding doors having a narrow stile frame movable into closed engagement with a tubular thin walled jamb frame structure and which comprises a vertically spaced upper main locking unit on the door narrow stile frame having a hook-type bolt actuatable by a key mechanism between an unbolted position and a dead-locked bolted position, a lower slave lock unit on the door narrow stile frame having a hook-type bolt, and a upper slave header locking unit, having a longitudinally reciprocable bolt for bolting engagement with door frame header keepers respectively at a door fully closed position and a door partially open position. The hook-type bolts are each movable into hooked bolted relation with a relatively thin wall portion of the jamb wall surrounding a bolt receiving opening therein and which is peripherally reinforced by being sandwiched between an associated inner backup steel plate member and an outer trim steel plate member.

  • Patent number: 4570992
Abstract: A tilt-out roof for vehicles having a closure panel arranged in the area of an opening in the roof of the vehicle. A frame extends around the edge of the opening in the roof, and a telescopic jack, that is used for the lifting and lowering of the rear part of the cover, is connected to the frame, on the one hand, and to the closure panel, on the other hand. The telescopic jack has several threaded parts that engage with one another, one of which is connected with a turning handle. The turning handle has a rotary plate that establishes the connection with one threaded part and closes the telescopic jack toward the bottom, and a separate handle rim that is detachably connected with the rotary plate. The rotary plate acts to hold the threaded parts of the jack in a predetermined relationship with respect to one another when the handle rim is detached.

  • Patent number: 4548432
Abstract: An operator for keeping doors, windows, shutters, or preferably entrance doors in a closed position has operating elements housed within a casing attached to a bar. A rod, for instance an espagnolette rod, is operatively connected to the operating elements and arranged for maneuvering at least one bolt. The operating elements include means for maneuvering a further bolt. A handle is arranged for rotation in opposite direction from a neutral position. In one direction in the first bolt is manoeuvred, and in the other direction the further bolt is manoeuvred. The operator has a spring device for returning the first bolt to a retracted position as soon as the handle returns from the position thereof corresponding to an extended bolt, unless the return movement of the bolt is positively prevented, for instance by friction engagement with the striker plate.

  • Patent number: 4526057
Abstract: A push-pull cable arrangement for selectively transmitting longitudinal motion to two separate destinations has an inner wire having a front end, a rear end and an intermediate node between the front and rear ends. The inner wire is enclosed with a first outer casing between the front end and the intermediate node, and with a second outer casing between the intermediate node and the rear end. A front end of the first casing facing the front end of the wire is stationary, and a rear end of the second casing facing the rear end of the inner wire is also stationary. There is further provided an intermediate unit having a first member to which a rear end of the first casing is fixed, and a second member to which a front end of the second casing is fixed. One of the first and second members is a stationary housing, and the other is a sliding member slidably contained in the housing.

  • Patent number: 4374597
Abstract: A stopper is provided on the inner wire of a Bowden cable type arrangement. The stopper allows the wire to be pulled in a first axial direction to operate one of two latch mechanisms and engages a shoulder defined in the second latch mechanism when driven in a second axial direction to produce a reaction which causes the tubular housing disposed about the wire between the second latch mechanism and a single handled actuating mechanism, to flex and pull a lever of the second latch mechanism for operating same, whereby a single lever can be used to selectively operate two different mechanisms.

  • Patent number: 4261189
Abstract: A retainer plate is pivotally mounted on a panelboard cabinet door lock housing, which carries a latch for locking the door. A detent on the plate engages in a rabbet opening to enable limited opening movement of the door in response to the pressure developed by arc gases generated by fault currents passing through a tripped circuit breaker in the panelboard cabinet. For ordinary opening movement, the lock latch is manually operated to pivot the retainer plate and disengage the detent from the rabbet opening.

  • Patent number: 4237709
Abstract: A locking mechanism for lids, hoods, flaps and/or doors, especially in motor vehicles, which cooperates with a cylinder lock whose lock cylinder is provided with a lock part adapted to be pressed-in against the force of a spring. The lock part includes, at its cylindrical outer surface, a pressure pin which is swung by rotation from an operating position to a non-operating position. In addition to the pressure pin, a lug is arranged at the outer surface of the lock part adapted to be pressed-in. The lug is operatively connected with an additional locking mechanism in such a manner that the additional locking mechanism becomes operable only over a limited rotary range of the lock cylinder adjoining the inoperable position of the pressure pin--as viewed in the locking direction.

  • Patent number: 4219231
Abstract: An improved locking arrangement for a vehicle body member with an opening, a tiltable and removable cover for closing the opening which is swivelable in the vicinity of a front edge and has a tilting mechanism near its rear edge and connected with the cover is formed by first locking elements which are so disposed and designed that they are releasable only from inside the vehicle, even when the cover is tilted, and second locking elements which are releasable only from the outside of the vehicle when the cover is tilted. According to a preferred embodiment, the first locking elements are provided laterally next to the tilting mechanism on both sides thereof and are shielded by walls both laterally and below, while a preferred arrangement for the second locking elements includes a hook engageable with a locking surface which is so disposed that the hook latches rearward of the first locking elements.
